​FACILITATOR ADVERT FOR ACADEMIC SUPPORT CAMP 2025 

 
NCV – LEVEL 4 SUBJECTS FOR 2025 ACADEMIC SUPPORT CAMP 
 
ELANGENI TVET College hereby requests applications of prospective candidates for the following facilitator posts for the 2025 academic support camp.

Tutorials Timetable:
19 JUNE – 23 JUNE 2025
Timetabled daily as per schedule – will be issued upon assumption of duty
 
PAYMENT RATES:
Facilitation Hourly Rate R 270 [ max 25 hours per subject]
Assessments Design question paper and annexures R 150 [ I hour duration task]
Marking of scripts per subject / per task R 20 per script
Payments are made at the end of the teaching cycle or as stated
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
• A recognized 3-year Degree/Diploma qualification with majors in the particular field of study, In-depth knowledge of the subjects (Attach transcript). 
• Registration with SACE (South African Council of Educators) will be an added advantage. 
• Excellent communication in English (written and verbal), organizing, planning and administration skills. Ability to monitor students’ performance and provide critical feedback in an objective and professional manner. 
• Facilitators to prepare activities and material to be used at the camp. 
• Lecturer to attach lecturer results stats for the past 3years (2022-2023 - 2024). 
• Facilitator to prepare an assessment to be administered at the camp. 
• Facilitator maybe required to stay over at the Pinetown campus hostel facility and Meals will be provided over and above payments. 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Face to Face Teaching and Instructional Responsibilities 
Deliver Engaging & Planned Lecturers:
  • Develop lesson plans / materials & Conduct face to face lectures and facilitate engaging learning activities through the use of multimedia resources like video presentations, digital lectures, and quizzes. 
  • Utilize digital / whiteboards, and interactive classroom content to enhance learning and student engagement. 
  • Maintain an Active Presence:
  • Engage with students regularly throughout the camp. Promptly respond to inquiries, and provide timely, constructive feedback on lessons and tasks to sustain engagement and understanding. 
  • Flexible Schedule: Be prepared to work flexible hours, during the duration of the camp to meet diverse student needs and accommodate various scheduled lessons. 
 
2. Student Support and Pastoral Care 
  • Pastoral Care for Student Well-being: Provide additional support to students facing academic or personal challenges services if required 
  • Monitor and Encourage Engagement: Track student participation during the camp and proactively reach out to those with low engagement or needing additional help, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. 
  • Serve as the initial contact for addressing basic technical issues that students may experience. Escalate more complex technical problems to the camp managers & track resolutions. 
  • Feedback and Issue Documentation: Maintain detailed records of support cases, offering insights to the camp managers and or SSS / Curriculum Unit to inform improvements in content delivery and overall camp success. 
  • Assessment, Record-Keeping, and Progress Monitoring 
  • Design and Administer ONE Assessments: Create assessments suited to the camp providing structured rubrics, clear guidelines, and prompt feedback to support continuous student growth. 
  • Record Management: Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress within the camp ensuring transparency and easy access for students. Share progress updates with students and camp managers 
  • Be professional and punctual at all times 
 
Elangeni TVET will host - a compulsory facilitator induction session prior to assumption of duties – scheduled for 6 June 2025
