ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING REF NO: CJC/ADFA/2022
SALARY : R382 425 per annum (Level 09) plus benefits as applicable in the Public Sector
CENTRE : Central Office: Parktown
REQUIREMENTS : Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Recognised three (3) year National Diploma (NQF 6) in financial management or related qualification with 3-5 years working experience. A post graduate qualification will be added advantage. Knowledge: Thorough knowledge and understanding of PSET and CET Act. Knowledge, application and understanding PFMA. Knowledge and understanding Treasury Regulations. Knowledge of the full comprehensive expert level understanding and usage of GRAP Standards. Skills: Financial management, experience in financial reporting. Experience in managing a team of employees. Demonstrable experience in risk assessment for the department, risk mitigation and monitoring of internal controls. Negotiation and persuasion skills. Report writing. Communication and interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Problem solving. Computer literacy. Analytical. Client oriented. Project management. Team leadership. People management. DUTIES : Financial Reporting for the college and providing assistance to the Deputy Principal Financial Services (CFO) with regards to compilation of Annual Financial Statements, Monthly reporting, reconciliations and all financial reporting duties to related parties, council and sub-committees of council. Monitoring of internal controls in Finance department and ensuring adherence to internal controls throughout the college. Train campuses where need be on internal controls so as to ensure enhancement of internal controls. Financial Ratio Analysis and provide guidance to the CFO on what needs to be improved upon in terms of financial ratios in order to promote a self-sustainable college. Assist CFO in ensuring that a self-sustainable college that has the best financial recording methods is in existence. Supervise employees to ensure an effective financial accounting service.
