NATIONAL ENERGY REGULATOR (NERSA)
 
The National Energy Regulator (NERSA) is a regulatory authority established as a juristic person in terms of Section 3 of the National Energy Regulator Act, 2004 (Act No. 40 of 2004). NERSA’s mandate is to regulate the electricity, piped-gas and petroleum pipeline industries in terms of the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (Act No. 4 of 2006), Gas Act, 2001 (Act No. 48 of 2001) and Petroleum Pipelines Act, 2003 (Act No. 60 of 2003). The structure of the Energy Regulator consists of nine members, five of whom are part-time and four are full-time, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Energy Regulator is supported by a secretariat under the direction of the CEO. The Energy Regulator wishes to recruit personnel with appropriate competencies in the following area: 
 
Compliance and Dispute Resolution Analyst
Department: Gas Licensing, Compliance and Dispute Resolution (GLC) 
Salary package: R470 993.00 – R678 125.00 per annum (CTC)

Requirements: * Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering * Minimum of three (3) years working experience working experience as an Engineer. 
 
The candidate must be competent in the following: * Computer Literacy (MS Excel, Word, Power Point and Microsoft Project) * Analytical Skills * Research Skills * Planning and Organizational Skills * Time management Skills * Problem-solving Skills * Interpersonal Skills * Negotiation and conflict resolution Skills * Project management Skills. 
 
Key responsibilities: Reporting to Head of Department: Gas Licensing, Compliance and Dispute Resolution, the successful incumbent will be responsible for : * Assisting in developing and maintaining a compliance monitoring framework for the piped-gas industry * Monitoring and enforcing compliance to licence conditions, regulations, the Gas Act and the Regulatory Agreement 
* Conducting compliance audits and inspection of licensees to ensure compliance with licence conditions * Conducting appropriate investigations into the activities of licensees * Monitoring the agreed Sasol’s exploration commitments and the orders of supply as stipulated in the Regulatory Agreement, and assess certified proven saleable reserves reports * Assisting in implementing and ensuring third party access to gas transmission and storage facilities * Providing technical support and assistance to the Compliance Engineers and the Senior Dispute Resolution Officer * Liaising with licensees on compliance matters, and maintain proper records * Providing support to the Head of Department : Gas Licensing, Compliance and Dispute Resolution and conduct ad hoc activities assigned by the Head of Department: Gas Licensing, Compliance and Dispute Resolution.
