The National Office has a vacancy for a Professional Quantity Surveyor on a twelve (12) Months’ Fixed Term Contract.
Purpose
To provide comprehensive and professional quantity surveyor expertise and support to the Facilities Unit of the CCMA. The QS will be responsible for lease cost analysis, planning, lease procurement and strategies, leases SLA contractual and negotiations arrangements, Tenant Installation project management, Reporting, advise and apply regulatory practices and risk assessments and controls of the projects until completion & to ensure expenditure within the budget.

Purpose
To provide comprehensive and professional quantity surveyor expertise and support to the Facilities Unit of the CCMA. The QS will be responsible for lease cost analysis, planning, lease procurement and strategies, leases SLA contractual and negotiations arrangements, Tenant Installation project management, Reporting, advise and apply regulatory practices and risk assessments and controls of the projects until completion & to ensure expenditure within the budget.
Key Performance Areas: –
- Lease Procurement Strategies
- Develop and recommend lease procurement strategies on commercial buildings and leases
- Provide current Lease Specification improvement and be legally sound
- Identify possible associated risks
- Quality check on received bid documentations, lease SLAs, leases Addendums, etc,
- Serve and provide lease procurement advisory services to stakeholders, Governance structures including Bid Committees
- Conduct lease negotiations (Bids, rental, third parties)
- provide lease contractual commercial advice (solutions & cost effectiveness)
- Facilities Management
- Provide Lease contracts management
- Provide proper lease process strategies
- Provide awareness sessions on leases and commercial regulatory practices
- Liaise with the OHS subunit
- Conduct general and BEC lease site visits
- Project Management: Tenant Installation
- Facilitate and manage the Tenant Installation and to end process (including ICT)
- Develop internal project plan for each Tenant Installation Project
- Ensure proper administration and filing on SharePoint
- Provide risk assessments and mitigations (with regulatory practices)
- Facilitate the moving out & into the new building with Provincial offices
- Facilitate and ensure proper office building handover to the Region by the Landlord
- Ensure acquirement of Office Building Occupancy Certificates in line with the Policy
- Reporting
- Provide Bi-weekly and Monthly reporting (Financials, Risks, Recommendations, TI Snags,
- Provide Quarterly reporting
- Provide closeout and handover reports
Key Requirements:
- National Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying (ND/ BTech / BSc Quantity Surveying)
- Member of the South African Association of Quantity Surveyors
- 5-7 years’ experience as Quantity Surveyor on high –end commercial and industrial build Projects
