Reporting to –General Manager Metering Field Services
Task Grade 14
Purpose
The primary objective of this position is to manage metering resources both human and asset as well as providing Domestic Metering services for City Power in order to facilitate the continuity of correct billing and minimize billing queries; To proactively ensure that the AMR and manual meters are operated and maintained in an effective manner so as to provide accurate billing records; Identifying risk in the area of control, all within the parameters of SHER / NERSA / related NRS standards and the by-laws, in order to provide customer service excellence;
Key responsibilities
Ensure network stability and optimisation by employing load management techniques via smart meters/ripple controls or any other supported technology type in order to promote the continuity of supply
Ensure a safe and environmentally friendly network
Ensure all newly purchased and refurbished equipment is of the highest quality
Adjudication of tenders
Ensure that only accredited contractors are used
Ensure QA notification for non-compliant equipment
Ensure adherence to the WMS processes
Investigate problems on systems with fault finding to ensure continuous operation of the system
Identify & replace faulty meters and keypads manage and follow-up
Ensure that all major incidents are investigated and that reports are produced for prevention and rectification purposes
Ensure that all employees attend relevant training
Ensure customer satisfaction
Ensure stakeholder buy in of peripheral and value adding equipment in the domestic domain
Ensure effective management of the CAPEX/OPEX budget in line with the business plan
Ensure meters are online and offline meters are restored timeously.
Ensure Compliance to by- laws.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in advanced diploma, post graduate BTech or equivalent in in Electrical Engineering (HV)
Related Minimum Experience
5 years’ experience of which 3 years are in the supervisory capacity.
