MANAGER: FLEET MAINTENANCE 
Department: Group Corporate and Shared Services 
Branch: Group SHELA & FCM 
Designation: Manager: Fleet Maintenance 
Remuneration: R44 693,36 pm (basic salary, excluding benefits) 
Location: 27 Stiemens Street, JD House, Braamfontein 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Grade 12 / NQF level 4. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transport, Logistics Management or Fleet related (NQF level 7). 
  • Certificate in Automotive Repair and maintenance or related. 
  • 5 years’ functional experience within Fleet Management environments. 
  • 2 years’ experience in fleet maintenance and operations. 
  • Experience or exposure in fleet bid process and contract management. 
 
Primary Function: 
Coordinate and provide oversight support activities for all vehicle managed maintenance contracts acquired for the City core department and entities. 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee vehicle maintenance database in liaison with City user departments and entities. 
  • Assess vehicle needs and utilization and advise users group on implications and processes to follow. 
  • Ensure that there is sufficient financial planning, budget, monitoring and reporting within the department in consultation with user department and entities. 
  • Manage the compliance to standard operation procedures with regards to maintenance of vehicle and equipment in line with original equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards. 
  • Manage and promote safety of employees in the workplace and comply with all relevant legislation.
