DEPUTY DIRECTOR: SAP PROJECT MANAGER
SHORT-TERM CONTRACT
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Group Corporate & Shared Services Department has the following short-term contract opportunity for a period NOT exceeding one year.

Designation: Deputy Director: SAP Project Manager
Remuneration: R74 197,69 pm (total cost to company)
Location: Metropolitan Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein
Minimum requirements:
• Three (3) year qualification in Administration/Management/HR/Strategy/Finance/IT or any other relevant area or applicable experience of at least 15 years.
• 5 - 8 years’ experience in a senior position in a large organisation, Municipality, or Government Entity where important functions are clustered together.
• Information Technology infrastructure in the following areas: o Applications system management, design, development and support inclusive of HR application systems,
- Infrastructure architecture inclusive of networks, mainframe, midrange, servers and personal computer systems.
- Business systems analysis, specification, design, development and implementation.
• Knowledge and experience in systems integration projects.
• Management System Information reporting on HCM information
• Experience and understanding of the Shared Services Operating model within the Local Government environment.
• Service management experience and understanding of the role of service management technology and processes in the implementation and measurement of service level agreements and the relationship of these to the HCM applications in business and the implementation thereof within Local Government.
• Audit and risk management.
• Audit controls within HCM
• Development of Standard Operating Procedures.
• Local Government Business Planning Cycles.
• HCM experience in Local Government in general.
Primary Function:
Provide the Office of the Group Head: GHCM with a strategic support service in terms of GHCM Strategic Business Planning, Service Management and Programme and Project Management, by interfacing and consolidating required information from Group CoJ/MEs through consultation with high level role players.
Key Performance Areas:
• Direct, lead, organise and control the functions of Strategy and Business Planning.
• Undertake long term strategic and tactical planning for GHCM.
• Establish and implement a comprehensive strategy and Business Planning process within GHCM.
• Manage all aspects of people management within the Section.
• Implement and manage the performance of all employees in the Section.
• Provide a Project and Programme Management function to GHCM.
• Consolidate progress and feedback for the direct reports to the Group Head and the Group Executive Director: GCSS.
• Monitor service quality and ensure continuous improvement of service quality for GHCM.
• Engage with high-level stakeholders, internal and external on GHCM-related activities.
• Coordinate and manage all audit-related functions, i.e. Auditor General and Group Risk and Assurance Services.

Appointment requirements:
• Three (3) year Degree qualification in Business Administration/Project Management/ Public Administration/ IT or applicable experience of at least 10 years.
• 4 - 6 years’ experience within Business Administration/ Project Management/ Public Administration
• SAP S/4 HANA experience essential.
• Specific experience within an IT HCM Systems Application environment.
• Good knowledge of Project Management with 3 - 6 years relevant experience.
• Advanced data processing and analysis skills and experience.
• 3 - 6 years’ experience delivering training using various SAP solutions as part of Human Capital Management rollout.
• Experience of delivering online (remote) training to large groups.
• Previous experience of creating materials to support process changes and learning.
Primary Function:
Provide administrative support to the GHCM SAP Project Manager as well as facilitate, schedule and conduct the required training to ensure the project rollout objectives are met within the SAP upgrade project for all GHCM modules.
Key Performance Areas:
• Provide efficient and effective administrative support.
• Provide efficient and effective project support.
• Project coordination and report on the project progress.
• Develop training strategies for end-user training and support.
• Coordinate training activities and report on training status updates.
• Create training material and manage the training environment.
• Manage training activities of employees on the SAP Enable Now online platform.
• Assist the SAP Project manager with training administrative tasks and activities.
Leading Competencies:
• Expert Computer Literacy (Microsoft Projects, Word, PowerPoint and particularly Excel).
• Project management support: Ability to render project planning administrative support.
• Coordinate rollout of project training activities through scheduling and facilitation.
• Perform general administrative duties.
• Collate project information and capture into reports.
• Monitor the project progress against implementation plans and coordinate the submission of progress reports.
• Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills.
