Minimum Requirements:
  • National Diploma (N/T/S) Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)/ NQF 6 Qualification
  • Qualified Trade Tested Electrician
  • ECSA Registered (Pr. Techni Eng.)
  • Knowledge of Municipal Electrical Distribution Network and Metering
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • 3 years’ experience in similar environment
 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage the meter installation maintenance subsection
  • Manage the maintenance of prepayment meter, conventional meter, AMR direct driven and smart metering up to and including 3 phase 150A to maximise the municipal income and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that vending stations, thin client and management stations within Depot are operating correctly and efficiently
  • Conduct checks to ensure that all customers information, point of connection, meter details and consumer categories are recorded correctly in the vending system
  • Verify tariffs and implement revenue protection measures to maximise income for Council
  • Manage small revenue-based capital budget allocations of the specific area of responsibility
  • Ensure that meter and electrical installations comply with the relevant electrical by-laws and vending system data integrity
  • Apply specialist knowledge in the field of electricity 3 phase and single phase metering to ensure that CoE’s metering remains at a very high standard of accuracy
  • Manage the fleet, material and assets used and situated within the section to ensure that metering and administrative functions are executed at a high standard
  • Plan and design meter related infrastructure to ensure that it meets the demands
  • Comply with legislation and organisational policy to effectively contribute towards meeting organisational objectives
  • Apply a good work ethic to prevent financial losses
  • Ensure compliance with the Batho Pele principles, maintain good customer relations and efficient and productive service delivery

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification
  • National Call Centre Management Certificate (1 year or longer from a recognized Institute)
  • 2 year (in the aggregate) supervisory experience in Call Centre environment dealing with customers; OR 2 year customer services management/supervisory experience; OR a minimum of 5 years continuous call centre experience
  • Clean criminal record
  • Computer literacy and the ability to type 30 wpm
 
Core Responsibilities:
  • Operational management of the Call Centre
  • Responsible for setting targets with the Contact Centre Manager for the Call Centre Section. Giving regular feedback to Call Centre Agents on their performance
  • Design and produce meaningful information and accurate reports to Call Centre Management
  • Manage all business processes
  • Manage all daily escalation of urgent and overdue work and follow up on queries
  • Manage the training and development of staff
  • Manage all Call Centre resources
  • Manage the assistance offered to the Call Centre when operational increases occur or staff shortages
  • Manage the updating of notices / summary of notices and general feedback to the Call Centre
  • Plan and manage the standby roster
  • Co-ordinate meetings between Depot Managers and the Call Centre

Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor customer services across all services in the non-life threatening Call Centre to ensure that these services are consistently applied to the highest standards possible and in line with the Service Level Standards for the CoE
  • Implement strategic capability and leadership to manage a functional unit within a division that is accountable for the delivery of set objectives within specified time frames and costs
  • Implement operational processes to deal effectively with all levels external enterprises, with a strong emphasis on key account business executive management
  • Maintain governance and risk to ensure that no incidents of non-compliance result and risks are appropriately mitigated
  • Manage and implement financial processes to ensure the effective use of finances and curtail costs in the Department
  • Customer service orientation to build a strong understanding of existing and potential customer needs and requirements and ensure effective operations management and service delivery in the Department ensuring compliance with the Batho Pele principles

· Manage, plan, coordinate, supervise and control metering and accounts related activities for the department

· Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual budgets and financial reports in accordance with statutory and Council presentation requirements.
· Provide feedback on governance, risk and compliance practises and escalate unresolved issues via appropriate channels for investigation and resolution and keep up to date with legislation associated with engineering activities.
