The Specialist: Controlling will be responsible for the monthly management accounts, profitability steering through business analysis and financial modelling as well as preparing budgets, business cases, forecasts and Long-Range Plan packs.
Key accountabilities of the function
- Preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly results.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentary.
- Preparation of impairment calculations. Review of analysis of data underlying the impairment calculations. Review of RV and credit risk parameters together with the risk department.
- Ensure that FPM data is submitted to AG on a monthly basis. Review, analyse and advise business lines on FPM results on a monthly basis.
- Interprets and make assumptions about business line results, with regards to actual and forecasts.
- Clarification of results and abnormalities with business line managers.
- Co-ordination and preparation of forecast and budgets for submission.
- Cost and Interest allocations.
- Review and analysis of submissions by business line and cost centre managers.
- Maintenance of General ledger Structure.
- Manage and maintain financial models for the business lines to assist in profit steering.
- Management accounts – further development of management accounts in terms of content, preparation and availability.
- Control and reporting of the OPEX budget, including cost per contract, for assigned cost centres.
- Perform advanced data analytics into business line activities to derive trends, measure the outcomes of business cases, as well as highlight the health of key performance indicators such as penetration, retention and retailer support.
- Creation of business intelligence/dashboard to provide near-to-real-time data for business line and executive committee members to use in their daily decision-making processes.
- Control and reporting of headcount.
- Prepare and/or assist with business cases.
- Actively create efficiencies through technology and automation to increase accuracy, quality and time to complete mandatory tasks involving financial information.
- Any other task that management may necessitate in reaction to unexpected changes to our environment, greater business needs or to mitigate the vulnerability of the BMW Groups reputation or potential financial loss
- Internal Control systems or ICS - focus on regular monitoring of controls and on testing of controls effectiveness (e.g., performing monthly spot-checks and/or reviewing exception reports); conduct annual process & control review (incl. review / update of process maps / flows and relevant regulations / work instructions)
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting/Management Accounting and Statistics); Honours Degree Advantageous
Work experience, Leadership experience
- 4-5 Years experience within the financial services industry at a similar job/occupational level.
- Knowledge of SAP; MS Office (Advanced Excel); Business Intelligence software (Tableau, PowerBI)

ANALYST: SALES SERVICES
The incumbent will be responsible for reporting of sales performance, identifying sales trends, preparing proposals, creating and delivering presentations, finding opportunities to digitize internal processes and acting a project manager for IT projects. In addition, the incumbent is required to collaborate in initiatives that will increase sales including loyalty programme, incentives, retailers’ loyalty bonuses.
Tasks:
- Compile competitive analysis to support strategic pricing and product forums and for Headquarter.
- Ensuring that Retailer commissions and incentives are paid timeously and are approved and accurately.
- Drive overall management of the dealer incentive programme, dealer enquiries and supplier liaison relating to points allocation & payment processing including registration processes and systems.
- Managing Sign off Process of Engage Points- Bi-monthly /monthly, ensuring on-time payment.
- Oversee development of and implementation and integration of new User registration system.
- Maintain and ensure User Registration Systems are running optimally.
- Manage external supplier integration of systems security and process reengineering.
- Manage users/Dealers access for BMW, MINI, BMW Motorrad, ALPHERA, and ALPHERA Connect on Common Solution.
- Compile and process Regional Managers Incentives /Internal Commissions on monthly basis.
- Transfer deals between dealers and users before month end to ensure correct unit allocation.
- Serve as First Line of Defence (FLOD) Representative is V Division’s liaison between SF-G-4 and V Managers in preparing and delivering FLOD related updates, reviews, etc.
- Participate as the ICS Champion to drive ICS Risk Processes and facilitate sales and marketing Department with process maps and Procedure Manuals and on ongoing basis ensure updates, reviews and maintenance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Marketing and Sales Services’ annual marketing plans.
- Regular interaction with the External Suppliers and Dealer Network for all Sales Support related enquiries.
- Manage end-to-end Sales and Marketing Purchasing processes including the timeous raising of purchasing orders, supplier engagement and contractual agreements.
Sales Reporting:
- Extract and analyse data for trends and opportunities for the various Sales departments.
- Provide weekly reports and dashboards to support the Regional Managers at retail level.
- Provide weekly reports for EXCO and board meetings.
- Build standard dashboard that will be used to steer the business and sales.
- Provide reports and data to internal stakeholders for retailer incentive programmes, loyalty programmes and commissions.
Project Management:
- Manage allocated IT projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Advise progress to line manager and business managers.
- Advise on areas of concern within projects and facilitate decision making.
- Consult with external departments to ensure timeous delivery.
- Implement new reporting processes to support new or developing sales areas.
- Develop and implement automated reporting tools to control processes.
- Manage and execute processing of incentive programme points and Sprints.
- Identify and support implementation of automation / efficiencies / process optimization, in or affecting your area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- 4-6 years’ experience in a similar role within the financial services/motor industry.
