1X PRACTITIONER – SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (NON-PARK BASED POSITION)
Challenging position exists for Practitioner: Supply Chain Management in the Kruger National Park reporting to the Manager: Supply Chain Management.

Requirements
- Grade 12.
- National Diploma in supply chain, purchasing or logistics management.
- Entry level certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) can be beneficial.
- 1-3 years of experience in supply chain management working in or within a public sector organisation.
- Basic understanding of supply chain management processes.
- Ability to analyse data and generate reports to support supply chain management decision making.
- Good Communication skills for interacting with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in procurement.
- Basic problem-solving skills to address routine supply chain issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues and other departments.
- Understanding and adhering to ethical standards and public sector policies in all supply chain management activities.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with industry best practices and public sector requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the implementation of supply chain management processes.
- Maintaining accurate records, performing data entry, and analysing supply chain data to support decision making.
- Communicating with suppliers to obtain quotes, track purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Ensuring compliance with public sector regulations and policies and maintaining proper documentation for all supply chain management activities.
- Generating and distributing reports on supply chain management activities.
- Providing administrative support to the supply chain management team, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents. And coordinating with other documents.

EPWP PROGRAMME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: 3X SEMI-SKILLED ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORS
EPWP Employment opportunity currently exists for 3X Semi-Skilled Environmental Monitor at Mapungubwe National Park & World Heritage Site. The above-stated position is a fixed-term contract up to the end of 31 March 2027.
The appointed participant or Environmental Monitor will be paid a wage rate of R 208.00 per day as per Expanded Public Works Programme rates.

Requirements
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12).
- Code 08 driver’s license.
- Willing to work flexible hours e.g. weekends & after hours.
- Proficient in English and on other official languages with good written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities
- Protected area functions – area integrity & wildlife security.
- Problem Animals monitoring and reporting.
- Ecological monitoring, restoration, Invasive Alien Species clearing.
- Assist with relevant Conservation activities when required.
- Report directly to the local section ranger.
- Assist with the maintenance of park infrastructure, including fences, water points, roads, and other general maintenance throughout the park.
- Assist with natural resource management and participant in research projects.
- Assist with field data collection and capturing of data onto a computer.
- General administration – including timesheets, logbooks, and reports.
- Assist with storeroom cleaning, organisation, and stock keeping.
- Access control activities i.e. Staff, visitors management, and safety and security.
- Assisting with waste management activities, including waste collection, disposal, and maintaining cleanliness within the park.
- Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of living quarters to ensure a clean, safe, and habitable environment.
- Assisting with all park management activities as directed by Line Managers.

Requirements
- National Diploma/ Degree in Social Sciences / Education/ Community Development/ Nature Conservation or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in community facilitation, engagement, or development preferably in a conservation, environmental or educational context.
- Experience in administration, report writing, financial management.
- Experience working with conservation and/or, environmental and/or educational programs/projects.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and ability to work with diverse communities.
- Valid Drivers’ licence, PDP will be an added advantage.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Good communication, interpersonal, project management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in English and another local language (Afrikaans preferrable).
- Job involves frequent travelling, driving long distances (remote areas) and irregular working hours.
Responsibilities
Implementation of SET programmes, strategy and policies:
- Drive socio-economic transformation and community development, including youth empowerment and support for local communities.
- Manage and support conservation and community-based projects aligned with sustainable practices.
- Promote research and knowledge sharing, especially in social sciences and conservation education.
- Ensure sustainable use of natural resources through coordinated initiatives.
- Preserve and integrate cultural heritage and indigenous knowledge into conservation efforts and SANParks operations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop sustainable partnerships with communities and stakeholders that will be used as mechanisms to ensure constructive and intentional interaction in mutually beneficial programs and projects.
- Liaise with community- based interest groups and NGOs.
- Building and maintaining a sound relationship between the park and its neighbouring communities and promoting SANParks’ image.
Corporate Social Investment (CSI) & Wildlife Economy Projects:
- Coordinate and implement Corporate Social Investment (CSI) and wildlife economy projects that create local benefits such as skills development and job opportunities.
- Promote and support community participation in business and biodiversity economy initiatives within the park.
- Facilitate community-based economic development and empowerment projects for sustainable livelihoods.
- Establish and support environmental awareness programmes for schools, communities, and park visitors.
Personnel Management:
- Oversee staff management, including training, mentoring, discipline, and performance evaluation.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and employee wellbeing, including wellness and support programmes.
- Monitor and coordinate operations and compliance, including BSP team oversight and site inspections.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets in line with SANParks financial guidelines, ensuring effective financial control.
- Oversee procurement processes and ensure compliance with SCM policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory, stock, and assets to maintain accountability and efficiency.
- Support revenue collection and governance processes, including tourism income and BID committee participation.

Requirements
- Should be in possession of a post-graduate qualification in sustainable development, environmental management, economics, or business administration.
- Should have at least 10 years’ experience in biodiversity economy, sustainable development, business development and /or biodiversity conservation.
- Should have a strong understanding of South Africa’s socio-ecological landscape and policy environment.
- Should have a Proven track-record in designing and scaling market-based conservation solutions.
- Should have Experience in policy analysis, programme/project management and community.
- Strategic leadership with a systems thinking approach.
- Should have an Excellent communication, team leadership, partnership management, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
- Should have Experience in African conservation approaches or community based natural resource management.

- Facilitate the creation of employment opportunities in the implementation of biodiversity economy programmes through catalytic projects that support rural and local economic development.
- Mainstream biodiversity economy into relevant organisational policies, programmes, and decision-making processes.
- Ensure sustainable use, fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from biodiversity within national parks and Mega-Living landscapes.
