WORKING ON FIRE (WOF) EXECUTIVE: HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT Job Profile: Responsible for developing and implementing human capital management strategies to support the business and human resources needs; providing strategic direction and leadership to the human resources, employee relations, training and development and payroll functions in the organization and ensure regulatory compliance such as EEA Plans and Work Place Skills Plans. Reports to: JV Project Manager
Key Performance Areas: ● Assist in formulating Human Capital’s future direction within the Company and the supporting tactical initiatives. ● Lead the Organisation in providing best practice, strategic organisational development, human capital planning, organisational performance initiatives that will ensure delivery of valued and quality services focused on enhancing organisational efficiency and effectiveness ● Developing the Human Capital strategic business plan, strategies and monitoring the implementation of the strategic plan ● Working closely with the various business partner unit leaders to identify issues/ opportunities and Human Capital Management implications ● Manages the development and implementation of Human Capital Management department, goals objectives, policies, and priorities for each function ● Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all other relevant stakeholders ● Recommend, review, and implement systems and practices to ensure corporate alignment to the organisation’s vision and plan ● Plan, organise and direct the activities and staff of the Human Capital Management Department ● Plans organises directs coordinates the Human Capital Management Department’s work plan. Assigns projects and programmatic responsibilities, reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures ● Oversight of appropriate Human Capital Management control environment ● Alignment of the Annual Plan of Operations (APO) with individual employees’ performance management ● Implement Performance Management system with a strong focus on accountability for results, increased performance and innovation ● Communicates the Human Capital Management Department programs, policies, and activities to all relevant stakeholders ● Develops and implement appropriate change management initiatives and review current development programs to ensure adherence to company goals ● Development and execution of the retention strategy ● Manage, control, and roll-out of all talent management initiatives inclusive of succession planning ● Accountable and responsible for the effective management of the remuneration and rewards processes and employee benefits management ● Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reports ● Develop and implement the Employment Equity strategy to ensure adherence to the Employment Equity Act ● Ensure compliance and reporting of Employment Equity and BBBEE on a quarterly basis ● Provide sound financial management in line with PFMS and other applicable legislation ● Reporting to Company Managing Director, Board of Directors, Group Audit Committee, Working on Fire Implementation Meeting and Government Stakeholders when required ● Participation in Company Executive Committee and HOD meetings ● Oversees and directs the development and administration of the Human Capital Management Department’s annual budget ● Assist in the development of HR, IR and ER labour protocols, operating procedures, and handbooks ● Work with HR and Departmental Managers to with respect to disciplinary action required, including preparation of documents, investigation of any offence, scheduling hearings and attendance at hearings ● Where necessary support the HR, IR and departmental managers on any CCMA or Labour court referrals ● Ensure the wellness programme for staff is clearly documented and that staff are aware and regularly updated of the resources available to them Job Requirements: ● A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management ● Post Graduate degree will be advantageous ● 5-10 years’ relevant experience ● 3 years Senior Management experience ● Compliance with sound Corporate Government principles Skills and Specifications: ● Enthusiastic and willing to be hands on with all aspects of the role and business ● Hands-on approach that solves problems where capital may not always exist ● Proven, Driven and action oriented individual ● Organised, performance driven ● Decision making skills ● Communication skills ● Presentation skills ● Planning skills ● Training Techniques ● Facilitation skills
