About the Position

SARS is seeking a highly skilled, results-driven cybersecurity specialist with sound judgement, strong business acumen and a future-focused mindset. The successful candidate will contribute to SARS' higher purpose and service delivery by driving effective IT security controls and strengthening cyber resilience.

The Manager: Cyber Security Operations Centre is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and User Access Management (UAM) functions. The role ensures the effective implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of information security controls to protect the organisation's information assets, systems and services.

The position translates information security strategy into operational execution, driving measurable outcomes across security monitoring, incident response, identity and access management, security governance and operational risk management. The role also manages internal teams and outsourced security service providers, ensuring service excellence, compliance and continuous capability improvement.

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong information security management experience, effective leadership and stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to align security operations with organisational objectives and risk requirements.

About the Position

Tax audits are conducted to determine whether a taxpayer has correctly declared his/her tax liability in compliance with the provisions of the tax and related secondary legislation.  A tax audit includes an examination of accounting records, systems, substantive documents, explanations, or any other relevant information.  The audit process consists of planning, execution, and finalisation.  The following taxes are audited – Personal Income Tax, Company Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Trust, Pay as you Earn.

SARS is looking for four energetic, results oriented, self-driven Auditor to add value and improve the SARS operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of the Compliance Audit division.  The successful candidate will need to take responsibility for the planning of their time and work, executing the work in the Compliance Audit space to meet the set targets and goals across all tax types.

 

Job Purpose

To conduct standard audits or verification on a risk profile basis to ensure compliance on all tax types.

 

Education and Experience

  • National Diploma / Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in Audit/Tax AND 2 - 3 years’ experience in an Audit/Tax environment.

Job Purpose

To manage office cleaning and provide refreshments for the office and meetings.

 

Education and Experience

Basic Literacy

 

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

  • Experience working at a land border post, port of entry, airport or remote operational facility
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements

Process

  • Effectively utilise resources allocated to the job in order to perform contracted work outputs and report on and escalate any shortfalls.
  • Perform cleaning duties according to agreed quality standards and time parameters.
  • Prepare tea and other refreshments for meetings and functions when required.
  • Ensure quality of work content, minimise mistakes and improve quality and service. (I)
  • Plan and organise own work tasks within area of work. (I)
  • Report on daily task activities to provide timely information for decision making. (I)
  • Resolve problems and report issues. (I)
  • Adhere to and apply changes to own work processes as instructed. (I)

  • Assist with general port maintenance
  • Assist with water plant maintenance
  • Assist with Sewerage plant maintenance
