PERSONAL ASSISTANT
SANParks requires the services of a Personal Assistant to provide secretarial support as well as managerial, administrative and informational support to the Park Manager. The successful candidate will report to the Park Manager and will be based at Table Mountain National Park.

Requirements
- National Diploma (NQF 6) in Office Management/ Administration/ Secretarial Studies or a related qualification.
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Personal Assistant (PA) supporting Directors or Executives, with strong general administrative experience.
- Knowledge of the Conservation and Tourism industry.
- Advanced Level Computer Literacy (MS Suite).
- Valid Driver’s Licence and ability to drive.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to cultivate good stakeholder relationships.
Skills Required
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management capabilities, including project management and understanding of systems, procedures, and office etiquette.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Sound financial awareness, covering basic financial management and understanding of organizational financial systems.
- Effective interpersonal abilities, including customer relations, listening skills, conflict management, and diversity management.
- Professional protocol knowledge, ensuring proper conduct, communication, and alignment with organizational standards.
Responsibilities
Coordinate departmental activities and events:
- Acting as a first point of contact for callers, answering calls and liaising with clients competently.
- Dealing with emails and phone calls by responding, passing on messages or highlighting them for the senior manager’s attention.
- Efficient administration of the senior manager’s diary and provision of meeting support.
- Ensure adherence to protocol, policy as indicated in policy documents.
- Organising meetings and appointments, often controlling access to the manager/executive.
- Booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation.
- Organising events and conferences.
- Reminding the manager/executive of important tasks and deadlines.
Information flow and management:
- Assist in managing the flow of information within the Department.
- Efficient production and administration of the Department’s business documents.
- Assist senior managers with the collation and compilation of reports, correspondence, business documents and minutes.
- Typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence.
- Managing databases and filing systems.
- Implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems.
- Collating and filing expenses.
- Ensure departmental compliance with the records management system.
Administrative support:
- Assist in administering the expenditure records and reports for the department.
- Reconcile the budget and provide a variation report.
- Track the expenditure of the department.
- Ensure proper management of assets within the Department.
- Provide administrative support to projects.
Stakeholder management and collaboration:
- Work with various teams.
- Maintain a database of strategic partners and stakeholders.
Please Note
The remuneration package includes an all-inclusive Cost-to-Company salary based on the salary scale of Grade C2. The successful candidate must provide for their own accommodation as official accommodation is not available in the park.

GENERAL WORKER
A vacancy currently exists for General Worker: Rest Camp in Augrabies Falls National Park. Reporting to the Duty Manager.
Location Augrabies Falls National Park
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) NCV Level 4 certificate or equivalent.
- 1-2 years practical work experience in a general worker tourism/hospitality environment.
- Driver’s license, desirable Chainsaw & Brush cutter experience, desirable.
- Communication skills both written and verbal.
- Good interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of First Aid will be an added advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions, policies and health and safety (OHS) procedures.
- Good time-management and organisational skills.
- Short course in landscaping, desirable.
- Basic knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Must be willing to work weekends, public holidays, and varying shifts as required by the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in tourism facilities, including public areas, ablution facilities, offices, campsites, and accommodation areas.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining chalets, huts, kitchens, and other guest facilities.
- Collect and dispose of refuse and ensure that waste areas are kept clean.
- Assist with ground maintenance, including sweeping, clearing vegetation, removing litter, and maintaining pathways.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and reporting faults to the relevant department.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment, supplies, linen and other operational materials.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining facilities for visitors and tourism activities.
- Ensure that equipment, tools, and work areas are kept clean, safe and secure.
- Report damaged infrastructure, equipment, safety hazards or maintenance problems to the supervisor.
- Assist tourism staff with operational duties during busy periods.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of facilities before and after guest arrivals and departures.
- Assist with stock handling and movement of supplies where required.
- Follow occupational health and safety, environmental and organizational procedures.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to visitors when required.
- Assist with emergency situations and follow the instructions of supervisors and management.
- Perform any other reasonable duties related to the efficient operation of the tourism facility.
- Execution of ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Removal of refuse, Transport of linen.
- Relieve duties at filling station.

HANDYMAN
A vacancy currently exists for a Handyman position at Groenkloof National Park in the facilities Department. The successful candidate will report to the Officer: Maintenance.
Location Groenkloof National Park (Head Office)
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Code C1 driver’s license.
- Basic Knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Technical Trade certificate in the following fields: plumbing, carpentry, building.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ practical experience in a maintenance field or technical environment.
- Advance Knowledge of Maintenance environment, plumbing, carpentry, building will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
- Carry out basic maintenance work such as plumbing, building works, fence maintenance, carpentry works and civil works in accordance with predetermined quality and productivity standards.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance, such as replacing light fittings, switches, and sockets where legally permitted.
- Maintenance and repair of cupboards, floor decks and doors.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Installation and replacement of window glass panes, doors, and windows flyscreen.
- Repair or replace plumbing fitments such as water taps, toilet flush mechanism, water pipes, unblocking of blocked sewer rain and geyser fittings.
- Maintenance and repair of all roofs.
- Tile works.
- Repair and replacement of pavement.
- Repair minor steel works.
- Painting of building.
- Follow all health, safety, and workplace procedures.
- Monthly material stock control.
- Safe keeping of material, equipment, and tools in storerooms.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance issues.
- Keep accurate records of completed maintenance work and materials used.
