The successful candidate will report to the Park Manager & Manager: Human Capital Management and will stay outside official Park Accommodation. Requirements

  • National Diploma in Human Resources Management (NQF 6) or equivalent related.
  • Degree (NQF 7) in HR or Social Science would be added advantage.

  • Proficiency in English and another local language.
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Human Capital Management (HCM) policies, procedures, systems, initiatives, and operational plans.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of employee data on SAGE 300 and the People Management Module.
  • Update organizational structures, establishment records, and vacancy lists within the area of responsibility.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and line managers to ensure compliance with HCM policies and procedures.
  • Respond to employee queries and complaints to promote effective service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Administer and maintain employee records, including appointments, transfers, promotions, and remuneration adjustments.
  • Provide employees with information and support regarding medical aid, pension, provident funds, and related employee benefits.
  • Process employee-related claims and benefits, including retirements, resignations, dismissals, UIF, IOD, and death claims.
  • Monitor and manage leave administration while supporting compliance audits and investigations when required.
  • Supervise, train, and develop HCM Clerks, interns, and temporary employees, and oversee the administration of uniform requirements.

Support the Implementation of HCM Programmes

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of Learning and Development, Employee Wellness, and Performance Management initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management on Labour Relations processes and represent HCM in disciplinary hearings where required.
  • Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual Human Capital Management reports.
  • Promote a safe and positive workplace culture while maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Recruitment & Selection

  • Coordinate and support recruitment and selection processes, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting, interview arrangements, candidate communication, and verification of credentials.
  • Maintain employee records by opening and managing personnel files in line with legal and policy requirements.
  • Participate in recruitment interviews for interns and positions within the A and C bands.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and induction of new employees, including processing appointments on the SAGE 300 Job Management Module.
  • Ensure effective administration of employee exits, such as resignations, retirements, and dismissals, and assist with the coordination of employee information sessions.

GENERAL WORKER (FIXED TERM CONTRACT 36 MONTHS)

 

A fixed term vacancy currently exists for a General Worker (cleaner) at Meerkat National Park. The position will be on a temporary basis for a minimum of 8 days per month for 36 months. The successful candidate will receive a salary of R 543.82 per day.

Requirements

  • Grade 10
  • Knowledge and understanding of cleaning materials.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
  • 1 – 2 years general worker experience in a cleaning or housekeeper role.

 

Responsibilities

General Cleaning

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitize and polish offices furniture, common areas, passages, boardrooms, ablutions, kitchens, and reception areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies such as toilet paper.
  • Empty trash bins, replace trash bags, and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and stationery.
  • Report maintenance issues (leaks, broken furniture, electrical faults).
  • Clean kitchen areas including appliances, countertops and cupboards.
  • Clean windows, glass doors, and other office furniture.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and best practice to prevent accidents and contamination.
  • Operate cleaning equipment i.e. vacuum cleaners, trolleys, and carpet floor cleaning equipment.

Stock & Equipment Management

  • Complete daily inspection list.
  • Sign on the kitchen and toilet cleaning checklist.
  • Assist with inventory control (cleaning supplies, guest amenities).
  • Complete inventory / stock sheets and ensure points of use are monitored.
  • Check and ensure that stock quality standards are according to agreed levels.
  • Test hygiene equipment installed and report any breakages or faults to supervisors.
  • Report any other technical faults to ensure facilities are in working order.
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties as instructed by supervisor.
  • Handle and store equipment properly (i.e. cleaning machines and equipment).
  • Practice safe working procedures.

Purpose of the Job

To defend cases at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), facilitate the resolution of disputes between employees and supervisors, co-ordinate grievances and disciplinary investigations, conduct training on labour relations issues in order to contribute to a sound labour relations climate.

FINANCE PROJECT MANAGER – MEGA LIVING LANDSCAPES (5-YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)

 

SANParks unveiled a highly ambitious vision, called Vision 2040, following a collaborative and inclusive process to re-imagine and co-create a new future for conservation areas with a concerted effort to include the citizens of the country and world at large in the co-creation of National Protected Areas of the future within Mega Living Landscapes (MLL). In support of this vision, SANParks has secured grant funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF-8) and the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF) to catalyse implementation of Mega Living Landscapes.

 

The Project Finance Manager: MLL reports to the Senior Project Manager: MLL and will be based at Groenkloof Office, Pretoria. The position is a 100% project funded, will be responsible for managing all financial and operational aspects of the GEF and GBFF-funded projects. This includes project budgeting, contracting, subrecipient monitoring and evaluations, financial tracking and reporting, and administrative functions. The role provides financial and administrative assistance to program staff and grantees, ensuring that budgets and agreements comply with the PFMA and its regulations and WWF policies, procedures, systems, and donor requirements. The Project Finance Manager will coordinate the financial aspects with project partners and Sub Executing Agencies and ensure compliance with GEF and WWF standards and policies.

COORDINATOR: MONITORING AND EVALUATION (5-YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)

This role is crucial for designing and implementing an integrated M&E framework, in alignment with projects outcomes, outputs and deliverables and targets throughout the project’s lifecycle. The coordinator will dedicate 100% of their time to managing the projects M&E.

 

The Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator: MLL reports to the Senior Project Manager: MLL and will be based at Groenkloof Office, Pretoria. The position is a 100% project funded, project dedicated role responsible for the collection and analysis of different data in relation to the project activities, outputs, and outcomes; maintaining the M&E results frameworks of the projects; and assisting the Senior Project Manager in preparing quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports on project progress.

Requirements

  • Design and oversee the implementation of a Projects Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (to monitor, evaluate and report on performance, considering any existing approaches.
  • Conceptualize and develop tools, frameworks, templates and models for Projects performance monitoring, evaluation, reflection and reporting, taking into account any existing approaches.

MANAGE PROJECT MONITORING AND EVALUATION

SANParks unveiled a highly ambitious vision, called Vision 2040, following a collaborative and inclusive process to re-imagine and co-create a new future for conservation areas with a concerted effort to include the citizens of the country and world at large in the co-creation of National Protected Areas of the future within Mega Living Landscapes (MLL). In support of this vision, SANParks has secured grant funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF-8) and the Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF) to catalyse the implementation of Mega Living Landscapes.

The Project Administrator will also report to the Senior Project Manager and will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria. The position is a 100% project-funded, dedicated role responsible for performing general administrative tasks and facilitating the efficient procurement of goods and services as may be required. The incumbent will also provide secretarial support as needed, including assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, and correspondence. The incumbent will also maintain accurate and detailed administrative records.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) NCV Level 4 certificate or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years’ practical work experience in a general worker, tourism, or hospitality environment.
  • Driver’s license – desirable
  • Chainsaw and brush cutter experience, desirable
  • Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of First Aid will be an added advantage
  • Ability to follow instructions, policies and health and safety (OHS) procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in tourism facilities, including public areas, ablution facilities, offices, campsites, and accommodation areas.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining chalets, huts, kitchens, and other guest facilities.
  • Collect and dispose of refuse and ensure that waste areas are kept clean.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, including sweeping, clearing vegetation, removing litter, and maintaining pathways.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and reporting faults to the relevant department.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment, supplies, linen and other operational materials.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining facilities for visitors and tourism activities.
