The Oudtshoorn Local Municipality which includes the towns of Oudtshoorn, De Rust and Dysselsdorp is situated in the heart of the Little Karoo in the Western Cape. The Municipality strives to provide the best possible services and facilities to its residents, business community, industries, hospitality and tourism sectors.

REQUIREMENTS
• A relevant Post Matric qualification, preferably an Administration or Secretarial Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 – 5 years relevant administrative experience required.
• Computer literacy: MS Office
• Proficient in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Responsible for Support Services to the Political Structures of the Municipality.
• Manage and compile Council’s meeting schedule for the year, including Council Workshops
• Compile a Strategic Master Plan for Committee Services and Review it annually.
• Compile Council Resolution Register.
• Manage and oversee the compilation of agendas and minutes and attend meetings.
• Responsible for the management of Quality Assurance of all reports, agendas and minutes of the Council and other committees.
• Responsible for the publication of notice of Council meetings.
• Responsible for the handling of all staff matters within the Committee Service Section in order to ensure efficient service is rendered.
• Communicate approved meeting schedules to internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinates the administration of committees.

Candidates must be willing to be subjected to an interview and written/competency assessment. They must also be aware that previous employers and recent references may be contacted, and their qualifications, criminal and medical records be verified. The appointment will be subject to the signing of an employment contract, performance agreement and disclosure of interest.
