REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences (NQF Level 7) as recognised by SAQA. A Post-Graduate Diploma in Management will be an added advantage. Five (5) years of experience at a Middle/Senior Management level in the Health Sector. Pre-entry Certificate for the Senior Management Services (SMS) as endorsed by the National School of Government, submitted prior to appointment. A valid driver’s license. Computer literacy. Sound understanding of hospital services and broader health service delivery issues, District Health System, Human Resource, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Public Health Policy and related issues. Five (5) years’ experience at Middle/Senior Management Level preferably in Public Health Setting. Pre-entry Certificate for the Senior Management Services (SMS) as endorsed by the National School of Government submitted prior to appointment. A valid driver’s License. Extensive experience in Clinical Engineering and/ or Health Technology Management. Knowledge of the functioning of medical equipment and the allocation of health technologies and the interface between medical equipment and patients including outputs and measurements. NB: Registrars will be appointed jointly between the North West Department of Health and the University of the Witwatersrand/ Pretoria/ Sefako Makgatho Health Science and will rotate through the training platforms in Gauteng and North West Province. Anaesthesia: Joint appointment with Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Witwatersrand, University of Pretoria, Sefako Makgatho Health Science University. NB: Registrars will be appointed jointly between the North West Department of Health and the University of the Witwatersrand, will be based in Klerksdorp/ Tshepong Hospital Complex/ Witrand Hospital, and may be required to rotate through the training platforms in Gauteng. Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Registrar (Independent Practitioner). Must have completed Post Community Service. Five (5) year’s management experience of which 3 years should be at Assistant Manager Nursing dealing with Primary Health Care (PHC) activities. A certificate in Clinical Assessment Diagnosis and Treatment will be added advantage. A valid driver’s license. Knowledge of Constitution, Public Service Act 1994 as amended, Public Service Amendment Regulations 2023 and applicable health legislation/policies. Knowledge and understanding of Primary Health Care and Community Base services. District Health System (DHS) development and District Health Information System (DHIS) and working knowledge of Geographical Information System (GIS). Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a valid Work Permit for Non-South African Citizens.
