EXTERNAL VACANCY

Kouga Local Municipality is committed to the prescripts of the approved Employment Equity Plan and furthermore invites suitably qualified applicants to submit a detailed application for the following positions:

TOWN PLANNER INTERNSHIP

Contractual Appointment of 12 months

REQUIREMENTS:

Relevant town planning qualification (NQF level 6 and above)
Computer literacy
Understanding of town and regional planning processes
Good communication skills
Good report writing skills
Registration with SACPLAN (added advantage)
Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English and Xhosa)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Nil

SALARY: R10 000.00 Per Month

DUTIES:

Scrutinize and process land use applications
Prepare technical reports to Authorized Official/Municipal Planning Tribunal
Assist with public enquiries
Follow up on land use complaints
Provide technical comments requested from other internal departments
Perform any other tasks and functions related to Land Use Management and Spatial Planning

LEARNER FIRE FIGHTERS

Contractual Appointment of 24 months

REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12;
Fire fighter one (NFPA 1010) previous NFPA 1001;
Fire fighter two (NFPA 1010) previous NFPA 1001;
Hazmat awareness (NFPA 470);
Hazmat operational (NFPA 470);
First aid level 3;
Code B or code C1 drivers license ;
Attention to detail;
Knowledge of various firefighting techniques;
Ability to handle stressful conditions;
Good communication skills;
Ability to work in a team;
Sound knowledge of fire and disaster legislation;
Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

Exposure to all weather conditions and risk related areas of operation;
Required to work in hazardous locations at considerable above grade elevations;
Required to work shifts;
This post requires the incumbent to be able bodied.

SALARY: R72 000.00 Per Annum
