REA VAYA OPERATIONS SCHEDULING
The City of Johannesburg Internship Programme provides students and graduates with practical workplace experience to complement their academic studies and fulfil experiential learning requirements. The programme aims to develop workplace skills, enhance employability, and support the City's service delivery objectives.
· This internship opportunity is applicable to youth in the Johannesburg communities who qualify for this internship and have never participated in an internship programme before, except in circumstances where the internship programme was not relevant to the candidate’s course of study
· This Vacancy is open to all qualifying STUDENTS in the Johannesburg Community for a period not exceeding 18 months

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Transport Department, has the following Internship opportunity available for a period NOT exceeding eighteen 18 months.

Designation: Internship: Rea Vaya Operations Scheduling
Remuneration: (Qualification completed with min 360 credits): R10 109,86 pm (Basic Salary, no benefits)
(Enrolled as a student) : R3 500,00 pm (Basic salary, no benefits)
LOCATION: Old Mutual Building, 75 Helen Joseph Street
Minimum Requirements:
· Grade 12 (NQF level 4) plus Diploma in Transport Management / Logistics Management or studying towards (3rd year studies) an NQF level 6 qualification in the related field.
· Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.
Primary Function:
Monitor and report on Rea Vaya bus operations daily, including recording service demand statistics, and plan and model bus schedules to meet service delivery requirements.
Key Learning Areas:
· Daily monitoring and managing the routing and scheduling function of buses.
· Manage the implementation of newly designed scheduling systems and procedures.
· Compile and provide weekly reports regarding bus operations.
Leading Competencies:
· Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening and written).
· Computer Literacy- Microsoft Office Applications- Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
· Customer complaint and resolution skills;
· Good coordination and Organising skills;
Core Learning Competencies:
· Knowledge of public transport operations;
· Ability to compile operation reports;
· Ability to project daily bus operation statistics and plan for the future.
