Job Purpose:

To provide data analytics, business intelligence and information management support for the Water Metering function by ensuring the integrity, analysis and reporting of metering, billing, revenue and related operational data. The role enables informed decision – making, revenue protection, non- revenue water management, performance monitoring and strategic planning through the provision of accurate and actionable information.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4

• Degree in Data Analytics/Statistics/Computer Science/Mathematics or related field – NQF 7

• Drivers licence

• 3-5 years in a relevant environment


Core Responsibilities:

• Analyse water consumption, meter reading, billing and customer data to identify trends, anomalies, irregularities and revenue risks.

• Analyse meter reading and consumption data to identify abnormal consumption patterns, zero consumption, negative readings, billing anomalies and other exceptions.

• Perform data quality, integrity and validation assessments on metering, billing, GIS, asset management, customer and other operational datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness and reliability.

• Develop and maintain data standards, validation rules, reporting methodologies and performance measurements frameworks

• Evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of revenue assurance and loss- reduction initiatives using data – driven analysis.

• Produce management information and exception reports highlighting operational risks, revenue losses, billing irregularities, performance concerns and areas requiring management intervention.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of metering information systems and business intelligence capabilities.

• Provide specialist analytical support for audit, verification , compliance and performance assessment activities

• Engage with operational teams, system administrators,

• Integrate and share product, process and system knowledge attained through formal and informal learning opportunities in the execution of your role.

Job Purpose

The incumbent is responsible to support the Supervisor with maintenance, repair work and new work on water and sewer networks, water reservoirs; informal settlements; specialized services in Ekurhuleni as instructed, that may vary from time to time, within all key performance areas to ensure performance and operation of water and sanitation infrastructure.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 10

• Physical ability to perform all work required

• 1 year of relevant experience as a general worker

 

Core Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintenance, repair work and new work on water and sewer networks

• Excavate using pick and shovel or any other appropriate designed tool as instructed

• Prepare bed for laying of reticulation pipes

• Backfill and compaction with shovel and compactor

• Enter sewer pumps for the purpose of removing rags, foreign objects and cleaning

• Ensure that all safety standards are always adhered to as per regulatory requirements

• Assist with performance of general handy work and routine maintenance as required

• Operate and maintain plant, mechanical equipment, tools and sites in a safe manner

• Clean workplace after completion of work, ablution facilities and offices

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, by-laws, policies and procedures
