ABOUT THE JOB:

To supervise and execute internal audit engagements and provide independent, objective assurance to the IA audit function in support of the organisation to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential: 

• Grade 12
• BCom / B. Tech/ BAcc (Accounting or Auditing) – NQF Level 7
• At least full 6 years of audit experience 
• IIA

CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREA 

The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;

·       Draft an engagement letter to the auditee in accordance with the audit plan and submit to the Manager for review and the Senior Manager and CAE for approval.

·       Prepare a Risk and Control Matrix (RACM). 

·       Plan and prioritise own activities in accordance to allocated hours.

·       Prepare detailed risk-based audit program.

·       Execute audit in accordance with risk-based audit program to establish the adequacy of the controls and the compliance thereof.

·       Discuss findings with client below senior manager/divisional manager to validate the issues.

·       Prepare a detailed draft report addressing the findings, the root cause, effect and recommendations to rectify and submit to Manager or Senior Manager for review.

·       Incorporate the Manager and Senior Manager's comments on the draft report.

·       Provide the client with the draft report as well as the recommendations for the client to comment and indicate corrective actions.

·       Conduct special audit assignments as and when required by the organisation.

·       Write progress and monthly reports to the Manager and the Senior Manager.

·       Provide advisory services to internal stakeholders as and when required. 

·       May supervise and mentor Junior Auditors

KNOWLEDGE & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

• Knowledge of Internal Audit Standards
• System flowcharting
• Knowledge of drafting risk-based audit program
• Root cause analysis
• Knowledge of PFMA
• Knowledge of Risk and Control Matrix
