External / Internal Vacancy DIVISION/FACULTY: DEPARTMENT: Technology Transfer and Innovation POST: Mechatronic Specialist POST No: 5007 Peromnes level 06 JOB DESCRIPTION: To drive and support important Technology Transfer and Innovation (TTI) projects by making strategic and scientific decisions to ensure a positive project outcome and meaningful participation in the TTI's third stream income activities. The position will also provide scientific support to additive manufacturing (AM) to increase productivity and promote relevant applied research activity within the TTI. Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to: • Ongoing scientific support towards advanced manufacturing • Drive and support high value technology projects to ensure a positive outcome. • Research technology trends in specialisation on a continual basis to inform departmental activities. • Actively support departments in applied research activities to improve the research culture within the TTI. • Actively partake in applied research activities to improve the research culture within the TTI. • Develop the management systems and procedures of the assigned technology projects. • Support and train functionaries. • Lead and advise functionaries on specialist issues. • Identify new technology projects to pursue. • Identify and implement new incubation opportunities and projects. • Create communication platform between TS Management and TTI Management on scientific, technology and trajectory matters of Science and Technology. • Presentation/Publication of scientific work of TS / TTI at recognised events. • Communication through industry channels and resources. • Represent TS/TTI in stakeholder meetings. • Liaise with factories and suppliers.
