MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage and ensure the implementation of the Incubation strategy and offer business Incubation services and support to the various Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) to ensure competitive and sustainable small enterprises
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Design and maintain systems, policies and processes for the Sub-Unit to function optimally
Manage and facilitate the establishment of technology business incubators (TBI’s) in accordance with Incubation strategy
Develop and manage the implementation of capacity building programs for the TBIs
Monitor and evaluate the business unit/TBIs performance and recommend appropriate interventions to improve performance
Develop strategic interventions to position Business Incubation within the SA-SMME-support domain
Assure the embedding of risk management on TBIs financial and corporate governance practices
Manage Business Unit resources (People, Finance and Assets)
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Matric (NQF Level 4) plus a B Tech (NQF Level 7) or Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in Business Administration/Operations Management/Incubation Management/Entrepreneurship Management and or Project Management
Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) or Post Graduate Diploma (NQF 8) in Business Administration/Operations Management/Incubation Management/Entrepreneurship Management and or Project Management will be an added advantage

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
6 - 8 years’ relevant experience in Enterprise Development of which 2 -3 years should have been on a Supervisory/Specialist level
Able to demonstrate:
Experience in working with Non-Profit Organisations/Legal entities
Experience in Business Incubation will be an added advantage
Understanding of business incubation and small business support programs, principles and philosophy
Knowledge of Economic Development theory and practices
Knowledge of government legislation that impacts on small enterprise development
