As an Operational Finance Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial functions within our operations. This role involves ensuring financial controls, accurate record-keeping, and comprehensive reporting to mitigate risks.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and compliance by: Initiating and maintaining company procedures and policies related to administration and finance, manage financial risks, and oversee financial month-end activities up to the trial balance. Reviewing and reporting on balance sheet reconciliations. Compiling necessary reports within established deadlines.
  • Optimising financial performance and resource allocation by: Checking, consolidating, monitoring budgets, reporting variances, and assist in cost management and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning, by: Conducting forecasting, financial projections, and assisting with capital expenditure (capex) applications and budget reviews.
  • Safeguarding company assets, stock, and financial resources, by: Managing assets and stock to prevent theft and financial losses, managing debtors and creditors, and ensuring correctness and accuracy of financial data.
  • Leading and supervising the finance team, ensuring compliance with principles, values, and technology, by: Overseeing Human Resources functions, managing the ongoing functionality of IT infrastructure, and preparing and assisting with audits.
 
Qualification Requirements   
  • An essential requirement is a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a specialisation in Cost & Management Accounting.
 
Experience Requirements    
  • Essential 2-3 years of operational experience in the (FMCG) industry.
  • Essential 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Desirable 2-3 years of auditing experience.
