SENIOR EXPORT PROMOTION MANAGER: SERVICES INDUSTRY
All-inclusive remuneration package: Market Related
This is a 3-year contractual position (with the option to renew) subject to the successful candidate signing a performance agreement.
A Six-month probation period applies

The Incumbent will report to Head: Export Promotion

Purpose of the Job:
To proactively and effectively drive the Export Promotion portfolio within the services industry in support of achievement of Wesgro Strategic and operational objectives.
 
 
Requirements:
  • This position is suited to a professional in possession of a Degree in Business Science, International Business Development, International Relations, International Law and/or policy / Export/Trade or equivalent competence, coupled with at least three years working experience in a similar environment
  • Minimum of three years in middle management level
  • Understanding of marketing and communication principles, strategies and techniques
  • Knowledge of the companies doing business internationally from the Western Cape, and related challenges
  • Knowledge of export markets and related consumer trends and standards, as well as the international trade environment, must form an integral part of the applicant’s professional profile.
  • Contacts and networks in the respective markets will be an added advantage.
  • Sound understanding of Western Cape economy
  • Knowledge of relevant target countries will be advantages
  • A valid Code B driver’s license and passport.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Head: Export Promotion, the Senior Export Promotion Manager for the Services Industry will take responsibility for formulating, managing and implementing export facilitation in the services Industry.
  • Formulate a Trade in Services Export strategy and execute on the implementation plan
  • Facilitate trade-related events (outward/inward missions, seminars & trade fair participation) for Western Cape exporters
  • Match foreign buyers to local exporters
  • Develop programmes in collaboration with Wesgro’s partners
  • Keep abreast of export-related incentive schemes of the Department of Trade & Industry
  • Liaise with established and potential exporters and build strong relationships with these core stakeholders
  • Liaise with international importers and build strong relationships with these core stakeholders
  • Develop networks, both national and internationally, with relevant partner organisations
  • Ensure all Wesgro collateral is of the highest standard, and proof-checked
  • Perform ad hoc duties that may arise from time to time that will improve Wesgro’s export promotion ability
  • Ensure Wesgro research is communicated, through compelling content using available communication channels.
