EDUCATION SPECIALIST (ECD) (REF NO: WCTVETC 1/6/0001)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric / Grade 12 plus a 4-year Degree in Education or relevant recognized tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ lecturing experience in a similar position, preferably in a TVET Sector.
- Registration with SACE is compulsory (provide the certificate).

DUTIES: Financial Management – Display a sound financial understanding in applying the most effective management practices to achieve the college financial goals and objectives; Draft and implement ECD budgets; Provide leadership and management in the preparation, submission and approval of the ECD budget; Demonstrates knowledge of general concepts of financial planning and budgeting; Monitoring and invoicing; Ensures effective utilisation of financial resources. HR Management – Render advice and support with the recruitment, selection and orientation with staff and interns in conformity with applicable rules and procedures; Managing the capturing and payment of occupational student stipends; Lead and support the Organisational developmental programmes and initiatives in line with the vision of the College; Provide strategic leadership and ensure the development of a training and development strategy; Plan that is aligned to the strategic objectives and priorities of the College; Advice and support on employee relations and labour relations matters in line with applicable policy and procedure; Staff development and teamwork for optimal efficiency. Office Management – General supervision of ECD staff; Manage external verification and internal moderation processes; Preparation of quality reports; General office management. REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric plus 3-year Diploma and a 4-year Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum 1-year relevant industry experience in the fields including but not limited to: Internet of Things (IoT) and or 4IR with reference to: R programming; Tableau Visualising Tool; Python programming; CSS; JavaScript: Automation Anywhere 360; UiPath and Power
- Experience in a hub and management role, preferably with a focus on 4IR technologies and advantageous

DUTIES: Centre Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the 4IR Centre, ensuring optimal use of resources, equipment, and technology. Implement and oversee policies, procedures, and safety protocols in line with industry standards. Ensure the Centre complies with all academic and regulatory requirements.
Curriculum Development and Innovation: Lead the design and continual improvement of curricula for courses in robotics, AI, programming, and other 4IR fields. Ensure the curriculum remains aligned with current industry trends and technological advancements. Collaborate with faculty and industry experts to provide hands-on, practical learning experiences for students.
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the Centre’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the broader vision of West Coast TVET College. Drive the Centre’s mission to become a leader in 4IR education by fostering partnerships with local industries and stakeholders.
Staff Supervision and Development: Recruit, oversee, and mentor teaching and support staff within the Centre. Provide professional development opportunities to staff, keeping them informed of the latest technological trends and teaching methodologies. Monitor staff performance and encourage innovation and excellence.
Industry Partnerships and Collaboration: Develop and sustain partnerships with industry leaders in robotics, AI, and other 4IR technologies to ensure the Centre’s offerings remain relevant in collaboration with our Partnership Manager. DUTIES: Facilitation; assessment and monitoring learner progress; monthly feedback on implementation. Report on implementation and learner attendance. Conduct assessments, prepare POE’s for internal and external moderation process, administer and record training progress, conducts sites visits at relevant workplaces. Skills: Facilitation; computer literacy and classroom management for adult learners, excellent English communication and interpersonal skills; networking and partnership building skills.
