Walter Sisulu University is a multi-campus, comprehensive University, with its seat at its Nelson Mandela Drive campus in Mthatha. ​DEPARTMENT OF OPERATIONS FACILITIES 
SENIOR CAMPUS SECURITY OFFICER: (P8) PERMANENT 
Ref: WSU-KOM/2025/09
 
The aim of the position is to coordinate and provide effective security control for the Campus. This includes safeguarding and protecting lives, property, and information within the premises of the WSU Komani Campus. 
 
Qualifications:
• National Diploma/Diploma in Security Management/ Policing Administration/ Investigation/ and or equivalent security related qualification 
• Valid Driving License Code B 
• PSIRA Grade A Certificate 
No Criminal record (Interested persons must include South African Police Service (SAPS) clearance with their applications.) 
 
Experience:
Minimum five years’ experience as security officer, of which: 
-Two years must have been guarding and patrolling. 
-Three years must have been at supervisor/manager level and conducting investigation. 
 
Key performance areas: 
• Prevention of criminal and dangerous activities on Campus. 
• Conduction Security risk assessment. 
• Supervision and control of personnel, machinery, and other equipment. 
• Maintain proper documentation control and report writing. 
• Access control of vehicles to the residence and main gate. 
• Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

  • Excellent (Verbal and Written) communication skills. 
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered. 
  • Technical, ethical, and professional job skills. 
  • Planning and organising. 
  • Project Management.
