JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
• Academic leadership –Develop and review course materials; teach and assess students at foundation level; prepare a teaching and learning portfolio as evidence of compliance with standards; and participate in departmental management tasks delegated by the HOD, reporting on achievements in the Performance Management Contract (PMC)
• Develop and improve the curriculum content of the Civil Engineering qualification programmes in line with industry trends and the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-Framework (HEQSF)
• Industry relationship building and external engagement – Liaise with industry partners through consultation, collaborative research, and professional engagement activities.
• Leadership, university administration and enhancement aspects - Manage the entire assessment chain for the assigned subjects. This includes Identifying the appropriate moderator for the subjects/modules in line with the University policy and determining the appropriate students’ promotion criteria and standards within the University Policies, Guidelines and Timelines.
• Conduct student and academic administration and reporting duties in line with assigned responsibilities. 
• Internal processes – Participate in departmental, faculty, and institutional initiatives.
 
APPLICATION CRITERIA:
Qualification
• MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering. A first degree in Civil Engineering (NQF Level 7).
 
Experience:
• A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in teaching, industry, or professional practice.
• Evidence of successful curriculum development and academic management.

Evidence of active participation in professional, industry, and/or community activities.
• Knowledge and experience in implementing quality assurance requirements.
• Industry or professional practice experience will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated engineering competence, quality control and maintenance procedures, and management skills.
• Proven professional judgement demonstrated through workplace application.
 
Skills:
• A high level of discipline, expertise, and proven research skills is required, together with excellent communication (report-writing and verbal) skills, computer literacy (MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, ITS), and good interpersonal skills (collegiality, teamwork, and time management).
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
 
NB: Candidates must be willing to work only during normal working hours.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Vaal University of Technology invites qualified professionals to apply for the position of Manager Procurement Governance. This critical leadership role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the University’s procurement framework. The incumbent will ensure compliance, efficiency, and ethical standards across all procurement activities, mitigating risk and maximizing value. As the central authority on procurement policies, processes, and supplier risk management, the Manager will drive standardisation and excellence throughout the University.
 
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
• Manage the institution’s procurement delegations of authority aligned with Council approvals.
• Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of the Procurement Policy, Delegations of Authority, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Interpret and implement relevant legislation including the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA), B-BBEE Act, and Competition Act.
• Establish and manage a procurement risk management framework with regular risk assessments.
• Design and implement store management policies, procedures, and approval matrices that are practical, efficient, and compliant
• Oversee governance and data integrity of the e-Procurement system.
• Analyse procurement data to identify improvement areas and cost savings.
• Standardise procurement processes across faculties and departments.
• Manage supplier relationship management including segmentation, performance standards, pre-qualification, and onboarding.
• Serve on Bid Specification, Evaluation, and Adjudication Committees.
• Prepare procurement compliance and B-BBEE spend reports for senior management.
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes related to procurement.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Commercial Law / Supply Chain Management / Finance / Risk / Procurement, or related field.
• CIPS membership will be an advantage.
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance / procurement / supply chain management roles or related field.
 
Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex legislation.
• Exceptional communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Attention to detail and meticulousness.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
• Teaching and coordinating theory and practical subjects as delegated by the HOD
• Providing academic support to students
• Engaging in relevant research projects
• Participating in Faculty and Departmental community projects
• Liaising with industry and other stakeholders to improve the quality and standard of services delivered and keeping abreast of developments in the relevant fields
• Coordinating and conducting formative and summative assessment
• Curriculum development
• Attending various departmental and faculty meetings
• Attend to full time classes as well as part time classes where a need arises
• Developing study material for students, including review of learner guides and notes
• Administrative duties as requested by the HOD
• Self-development through research, publications, and presentations at conferences
 
APPLICATION CRITERIA:
Qualifications and Experience:
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (NQF Level 9) or equivalent
• Currently registered with the SANC in the following: Nurse and Midwife, Post-basic Midwifery, Neonatal Nursing Science, Nurse Educator, Assessor and Moderator, Nursing administration/Management
• At least (2) years’ teaching experience of midwifery in an academic tertiary institution.
• Curriculum Accreditation experience will be added as an advantage
 
Skills:
• Well organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative mindset, ability to work independently and as part of a team
