EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: HUMAN RESOURCES
(Five-year fixed-term performance-based contract)

The University of Zululand invites applications for the position of Executive Director: Human Resources. The appointed applicant will form part of the University’s Senior Management Group, reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and Principal. He/she will contribute to institutional effectiveness and efficiency by providing strategic direction and leadership, promoting a culture of excellence, guided by approved policies and procedures, in all activities and areas related to Human Resources. The position is responsible for the development and achievement of the Human Resources goals and objectives incorporated into the university's annual performance plan and ensuring alignment with the vision and mission of the institution.
The appointment will be for a 5-year fixed term with possible renewal for a further term of five years, subject to a satisfactory work performance review. A competitive annual remuneration package, including benefits, will be offered.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant Master's degree.
- A total of ten (10) years of relevant experience, of which at least five (5) years must have been at a senior management level in Human Resources.
Required Experience:
- Experience in human capital development and administration from a practical and operational perspective.
- A proven track of leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of human capital practitioners.
- Good working knowledge of relevant legislation
- Superior interpersonal skills and must be able to operate at all levels of the organisation
- Experience in the Higher Education Sector will be a strong advantage.
