RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Branding, Communication or related discipline;
- A total of 4 years’ experience in marketing management including:
- Digital marketing execution for a medium to large organisation – SEM, Google AdWords, SEO, Social media (organic and paid), website, mobile, app;
- Google Analytics with the ability to summarise key data into customer insight to improve engagement and conversion;
- Managing a website including familiarity with web design and content management system experience;
- CRM or an automated email marketing platform;
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business objectives;
- Project management of medium to large scale campaigns.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
COMPETENCIES
- Proof reading and editing;
- Digital marketing management;
- Knowledge of digital marketing automation software;
- Proficient in SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and analytics tools;
- Knowledge of Google Ads and Google Analytics;
- Knowledge of web publishing, UX and digital design;
- Understanding of digital measurement criteria and report writing on the impact of digital marketing initiatives;
- Project management and planning;
- Computer skills (Online publishing, Microsoft office, database management);
- Copy writing and development of copy;
- Administrative skills;
- Ability to work independently and handle simultaneous assignments with success and accuracy but at the same time also function as a member of the marketing team;
- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders across all levels of the institution to request content/input and approvals for marketing collateral;
- Must be able to function within a team and engage with other staff members in cross functional teams, including the social media practitioner and the web practitioner;
- Must have the ability to brief and engage with multiple suppliers and ensure that work is delivered on time and within scope. This includes negotiation skills to ensure the best prices, managing timelines and deliverables according to the project plan;
- The ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks and bring structure to the management of projects with multiple stakeholders;
- Must have the ability to conceptualise and manage digital campaigns;
- Excellent language and communication skills (both written and spoken);
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Strong time management skills;
- Multitasking capabilities;
- Strong analytical capabilities;
- Highly developed attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

- Additional Diploma / Certificate in digital marketing management, online marketing, digital measurement;
- 2 years’ experience in a higher education or research environment;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Responsible for any new payroll codes requests and thorough testing of the parameters within the systems;
- Conduct quality checks of tax deductions, tax register and IRP5 balances to ensure accuracy of tax calculations within the systems;
- Manage payroll system programs and parameters for calculation of statutory and tax calculations of salary runs;
- Balance and submit Monthly tax payments (EMP201). Checking and confirmation of payments;
- Accountable for tax compliance, tax reconciliations and payments of monthly PAYE, UIF and SDL;
- Submission of bi-annual reconciliations on Easy File, e.g., IRP5 runs, EMP501, 601, 701 on submission dates. Assist with modification, and cancellation of prior year IRP5s;
- Management of Executive Portfolio in the Payroll;
- Draft and control of monthly report to Senior Manager: Salaries;
- Manage the performance and development of staff. Ensure performance contracts and assessments for staff in the division are completed;
- Provide leadership concerning the division’s operational and strategic activities and monitor productivity and absenteeism;
- Lead system support to ensure that the systems are operational to the University’s requirements;
- Provide system-related leadership and training to reporting staff members by means of advice, assistance, and examples;
- Manage payments from campus companies related to retirement funds and group insurance and monitor correct payments to insurers;
- Responsible for reconciling pension and provident reports, and timeously payment thereof;
- Ensure that all enquiries are attended to within allocated timelines, according to fair labour practice and within policy;
- Manage permission manager for salary division (includes granting access to UP campus and system access).
- Management of salary suspense accounts handled by staff members to prevent over-payments;
- Remain abreast of changes in tax and payroll legislations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant B-Com in Accounting or Degree in Information Technology with a Certificate in Payroll Taxes and Legislation;
- 5 years’ relevant experience in the following areas:
- Payroll
- Data Analyst
- Project Management
- Management experience
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Knowledge of Income tax Act, UIF, SDL, BCoEA;
- Knowledge of SARS rules and regulations;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will actively participate in the following areas:-
- Registering for and pursuing a postgraduate degree in MMedVet (Reproduction) with the view to complete the specialist training in reproduction of domestic animals and to obtain the degree within the prescribed time;
- Actively participating in the clinical/experiential training of veterinary and veterinary nursing students while rendering services in the clinics of the Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital, on farms and in satellite clinics;
- Assist with teaching of undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students;
- Participating in providing a 24-hour clinical service and in community engagement activities, including disadvantaged communities, as delegated by the Head of Department;
- Participate in Departmental research and publications; and
- Performing departmental administrative duties as delegated by the Section head/Head of Department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A BVSc/BVMCh degree or an appropriate equivalent veterinary qualification;
- Registration as a veterinarian with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) or authorised to be enrolled for MMedVet studies;
- Applicable experience of at least two years as a veterinarian in a private practice with a caseload including reproduction, or training of at least one year in the specific field of veterinary reproduction as an intern at a recognised training facility; and
- Compliance with entry requirements for a Masters’ programme with a commitment to enrol for an MMedVet (Reproduction) degree and to complete within prescribed time frame.

- Preferably ten years' teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level in one or more of the fields of recruitment listed above;
- Extensive experience in curriculum development;
- Evidence of conference papers delivered internationally;
- Preferably a suitable NRF research rating, or otherwise a substantive peer review support and other proof of academic standing as per university requirements indicating international recognition in the field of expertise;

- Support research projects by providing the required veterinary expertise for project facilitation (animal handling, sampling, immobilisation and relocation, biopsy and necropsy); assist with permitting requirements (Department of Agriculture, Health and Environmental affair, and others); and assist with invoicing and costing of studies;
- Maintain research field project register, together with the laboratory manager, comprehensively documents all registered research activities linked to the station;
- Provide feedback and training sessions in the Mnisi community and facilitate workshops and/or information sessions, for visiting researchers, students and staff;
- Locum veterinarian for the Hluvukani Animal Clinic, including associated veterinary student training;
- Standby facility management; and
- Management of contract staff assisting with field and community-based research involving animals, as needed by projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A BVSc or equivalent degree;
- At least 4 years’ experience with companion animals, livestock and wildlife;
- Registered with SAVC as a veterinarian.

JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of the job is to provide life cycle management of the information security environment by architecting, planning, acquiring, implementing, maintaining and retiring strategies, policies, procedures, systems and equipment, to ensure a secure and auditable data processing, storage and communication environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Security architecture and strategy:
- Develop an information security architecture;
- Plan, develop, implement, maintain and test security strategy;
- Ensure infrastructure architecture and security solutions are implemented in line with industry best practices;
- Provide support to IT projects that require security solutions;
- Advise on information security opportunities that can be adapted to meet strategic objectives;
- Be responsible for developing and supporting cyber security strategies and initiatives;
- Plan and co-ordinate implementation of defenses against security breaches and vulnerabilities;
- Evaluate systems based on security requirements;
- Co-ordinate a strategy to prevent, detect and monitor possible unauthorized intrusion/access;
- Co-ordination of IT security activities, security policies and standards:
- Liaise with the IT Risk and Compliance Manager;
- Study and stay current with industry standard best practices for IT security, and emerging security trends and tools;
- Develop and maintain relevant operational security policies, practices and procedures consistent with legislation and best practices on diverse environments;
- Provide guidance to operational teams by defining access privileges, control structures and resources;
- Audits and security incidents:
- Function as team leader of the ITS CSIRT;
- Co-ordinate investigations of suspected and actual security breaches, issues and incidents, with their resolutions by the CSIRT, in accordance with the security incident management process;
- Produce reports of investigations into suspected and actual security breaches with recommendations, and ensure that remedial action is taken;
- Participate in audits and compliance reviews, and co-ordinate the required actions to ensure that identified operational security gaps are addressed;
- Establish relationships with law enforcement, internet service providers, the SANReN/TENET, CSIRT, etc., to facilitate the gathering of evidence and potential prosecution of attackers;
- Threats and risk analysis:
- Proactively assess and identify risks and mitigating strategies within the ITS Operations Division;
- Co-ordinate and ensure regular external and internal vulnerability scans and penetration testing;
- Co-ordinate research into and assessment of the impact of new threats by the ITS CSIRT;
- Analyse malware behavior, network infection patterns, and security incidents;
- Subscribe to, and consider, threat reports and advisories from relevant CSIRTs and vendors, and co- ordinate pro-active ITS responses as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- B Degree in an applicable field such as Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology, or Engineering, with:
- A total of four years’ experience in/with:
- An ITS security environment;
- Endpoint, Network, Information or Application Security;
- Three-year National Diploma in an applicable field such as Computer Science, Informatics, information Technology, or Engineering, with:
- A total of six years’ experience in/with:
- An ITS security environment;
- Endpoint, Network, Information or Application Security.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

Knowledge of:
- Life-cycle management of IT systems and data;
- Relevant legislation;
- An understanding of best practices for security management;
- Security frameworks such as Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and Defence in Depth;
- End point security (EDR and XRD), SIEM, MFA, PIM/PAM, NAC;
- Unified Threat Management (UTM);
- Policy and compliance tools;

Technical competencies:
- Vendor-specific products and training;
- Computer literacy;

Behavioural competencies:
- Communication skills;
- Interpersonal skills;
- Independent worker with initiative.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Honours degree in an applicable field such as Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology or Engineering;
- A total of three years’ experience in:
- Penetration testing;
- Project management in IT environment;
- Security Attack pathologies (network threat analysis);
- Systems analysis and synthesis;
- Certificates: CompTIA Security + / GSEC / CISM / CEH / CISSP.

It will be expected of the successful candidates to:
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the Department;
- Supervise final year undergraduate project students and postgraduate Honours, Masters and PhD students;
- Conduct research as a member of a research group in the Department and publish in leading accredited journals;
- Raise and manage additional funding from national and international funding agencies and industry to support the activities of the relevant research group;
- Expand existing research programmes or initiate new research programmes;
- Perform assigned departmental duties (e.g. of an administrative nature).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Lecturer:
- A BEng degree from a university of which the undergraduate programme is recognised by the Washington accord or is recognised by ECSA to be equivalent;
- A Masters’ degree in Industrial Engineering that follows on the previous qualification;
- Teaching or industry related experience;
- 1 Publication (peer reviewed article or peer reviewed conference paper); or
- Book chapter(s), recognized articles outputs or industry recognized outputs in a commensurate field.
Senior Lecturer:
- Same as for Lecturer, plus;
- A PhD degree in Industrial Engineering that follows on the previous qualification;
- At least three years tertiary education experience or three years industry experience with some involvement in tertiary education;
- At least 2 articles published in DHET accredited journals or a DHET accredited book;
- At least 2 other publication outputs (peer reviewed conference paper(s) / book chapter(s) / industry recognized outputs in a commensurate field;
- Supervision / co-supervision of Master’s students to completion or proven management experience in industry.
Associate Professor:
- Same as for Senior Lecturer, plus;
- At least 6 years tertiary education experience or 6 years industry experience with some involvement in tertiary education;
- Experience in curriculum / strategy development and innovation;
- Evidence of sustained publications output;
- Majority of recent publications should be in WoS / Scopus / IBSS journals (past 7 years);
- Evidence of at least 3 research Master’s OR 6 coursework Master’s mini-dissertations successfully completed (supervised or co-supervised);
- Evidence of Doctoral student supervision;
- Evidence of conducting reviewer duties for journals and/or conferences.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
For all levels:
- The ability to effectively teach large undergraduate modules.
- The ability to effectively teach and supervise postgraduate modules.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Evidence of teaching excellence;
- Preference will be given to the candidate with the specialization in Quality Management or Operations Research. However, candidates from the other areas of Industrial Engineering are encouraged to also apply.
- Related industry work or consulting experience;
- Candidates registered or registerable as Professional Engineer with ECSA;
- NRF rating or have applied for one.

It is renowned for its quality training and rose preparations of teachers in the ECE and Foundation Phase in the South African Basic Education sector. In 2025 it will be introducing the new Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) qualification that focuses on the training of teachers for the 0-4 years old children.

POSITION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- The strategic, academic and operational management of the Department;
- Promoting the Department's research profile;
- Ensuring scholarly academic and professional education and training;
- Playing an active role as an academic leader of the discipline at national and
- international levels;
- Support the teaching and learning portfolio of the Faculty through promoting the use of technology; and
- Fundraising for departmental activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate Professor
- A relevant doctorate with specialisation in the Early Childhood Education, Foundation Phase;
- 5 - 8 years’ teaching experience in HEI or other education sectors;
- Comprehensive teaching portfolio;
- Meaningful engagement with student feedback;
- 11-13 publications (journals, book chapters, books) of which 4 should be in a mix of internationally and nationally accredited journals;
- 3 publications should be sole authored;
- At least 6 students supervised to completion at Masters or Doctoral level;
- Proof of (inter)national peer recognition;
- Proven research funding success;
- Active international collaborations;
- International conference presentations;
- Recommended: H Index (4 and above);
- Community engagement in a related field;
- Work-integrated involvement/ mentorship;
- Active academic citizenship with a sound mentoring role;
- Evidence of solid academic administrative competence;
- Member of departmental/faculty/ institutional committees;
- Membership of international scholarly/ professional bodies; and
- Membership of external bodies relevant to the discipline or profession Editorial boards / committees, peer reviewer of academic contributions, external examinations.
Professor
- A relevant doctorate with specialisation in the Early Childhood Education, Foundation Phase;
- 8 - 10 years’ teaching experience in HEI or other education sectors;
- Comprehensive teaching portfolio;
- Meaningful engagement with student feedback;
- Exhibits leadership in broader curriculum development and scholarship of teaching and learning;
- Transformational leadership in curriculum development and innovation;
- 16-18 publications (journals, book chapters, books) of which 10 should be in a mix of internationally and nationally accredited journals;
- 5 publications should be sole authored;
- At least 8 students supervised to completion at Masters or Doctoral level;
- At least 4 at Doctoral level of which 3 should be sole supervision;
- Proof of (inter)national peer recognition;
- Proven research funding success;
- Evidence of being a lead or principal investigator on (inter) national research projects;
- Active international collaborations;
- International conference presentations;
- H-Index (8 and above);
- Community engagement in a related field;
- Work-integrated involvement/ mentorship;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be expected to:
- Teach and develop undergraduate and postgraduate courses in linguistics / grammar and literature in isiNdebele;
- Supervisee postgraduate research, appropriate to the post level;
- Conduct research commensurate with the level of appointment and actively contributee to the Department’s research profile;
- Perform various academic and administrative duties as determined by the Head of Department;
- Participate in the Department’s strategic initiatives relating to teaching, research, and community engagement;
- Participate in academic management, administration, and other duties as required by the Head of the Department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A Doctoral qualification with specialization in isiNdebele;
- Teaching experience at a tertiary institution;
- Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision;
- Evidence of research productivity (e.g., conference presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals);
- Academic administration experience.

- Ability to teach ffirst -language / home -language speakers of isiNdebele;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Providing sustainable bioinformatics support and data management and analysis for the students and research projects overseen by the research leader;
- Performing laboratory-based investigations by undertaking technical and experimental tasks;
- Providing operational, research and administrative laboratory support services for the research group lead by the research leader;
- Co-supervision of postgraduate students working under the supervision of the research leader as well as training and mentorship of visiting scientists and students;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- MSc in applicable Molecular Biology Field with a minimum of 1 year of applicable experience in:
- Molecular Biology laboratory research;
- Bioinformatics and Genomics research.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Standard molecular biology laboratory techniques;
- Next generation sequence (NGS) data analysis tools, pipelines and algorithms;
- Ability to prepare technical reports related to molecular biology, bioinformatics and genomics research;
- Oral presentation skills;
- Expertise in NGS DNA and RNA sequence data management;
- Project Management skills;

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- 5 years of applicable project management experience within the construction industry;
- 3 years of leadership, staff, and stakeholder management experience.;
- Valid Driver’s License.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Industry knowledge and exposure;
- Knowledge in legal and contract management;
- Knowledge on the National Building Regulations (SANS);
- Knowledge on Building/Construction;
- Knowledge of Construction contract law (JBCC, FIDIC, NEC, GCC);
- Knowledge on the PROCSA Agreement;
- Understanding of the entire construction project lifecycle and project management principles within the built environment, including management of internal PMs and consultants;
- Proficiency in personnel management ;
- Knowledge in financial management;
- Time management;
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction activities planning and scheduling, encompassing resource allocation and project sequencing;
- In-depth familiarity with construction contracts such as JBCC, NEC, FIDIC, and GCC, including contract administration and interpretation;
- Proficiency in utilising construction scheduling software such as MS Project, Primavera, and CCS to plan, monitor, and control project schedules;
- Expertise in construction project closeout and handover procedures to ensure seamless transition and client satisfaction;
- Comprehensive understanding of construction health and safety management, including regulatory compliance and risk mitigation;
- Proficiency in identifying and managing project risks through detailed risk assessment and mitigation strategies;
- Thorough knowledge of construction specifications, Total Quality Management (TQM), and relevant building codes and standards;
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address issues arising during construction projects;
- Ability to make sound decisions;;
- Understanding environmental management practices, including sustainability considerations and environmental impact assessments;
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and address their needs and concerns throughout the project;
- Expertise in scope identification, development, and management to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations;
- Proficiency in conflict management, including addressing disputes and fostering favorable resolutions among project stakeholders;
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal communication to convey project information effectively;
- Comprehensive construction project management and administration understanding, including documentation, reporting, and quality assurance;
