SENIOR LECTURER IN PSYCHOLOGY

Job Primary Purpose
The primary role of this position is to provide teaching, research and leadership in Psychology
 
Key Performance Areas:

Senior Lecturer
Leadership The provision of leadership at the discipline level.
Teaching and Learning Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Research Research and the production of accredited research outputs. Postgraduate supervision and the graduation of Masters' and Doctoral students in the minimum time.
Engagement Engagement, through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/profession and the community.
 
Minimum Requirements:
 
Senior Lecturer
Qualifications Doctoral degree in Psychology
Teaching experience 5 years at university level.
Research A strong record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and international journals and presentations at national and international conferences. A good record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' level with some of these students publishing their research.
Engagement Participation in learned societies. Some application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.

Disciplinary knowledge In-depth knowledge in the theory and application of the discipline of Psychology.
Leadership Good understanding of principles of leadership and management with well-developed leadership and management skills. Good interpersonal skills including communication skills.

Research Understanding of the national and international research environment including funding.

MANAGER: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

Job Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the role is to supervise and lead all occupational health, safety, and environment on the Mbombela and Siyabuswa Campuses to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 and other related Acts and Regulations.
 
Key Performance Areas:
•    Maintenance of the Health and Safety Management Systems to ensure continued compliance for both Campuses.
•    Ensure all registers exist and are completed at the set frequency. 
•    Conduct and review risk assessments.
•    Conduct safety awareness campaigns.
•    Emergency drill assessments
•    Environmental management.
 
Minimum Requirements:
•    M+3 in Occupational Health and Safety or Project Management.
•    Experience in food management/safety.
•    Industry specific short courses such as firefighting, first aid, SHE Rep, COIDA completed or in progress.
•    Six years experience in health and safety in the work place.
•    Knowledge of ISO 45001, 22000 and 14001 would be beneficial.
•    Knowledge of computerise maintenance management systems would be beneficial.
•    Knowledge of Higher Education administration would be an added advantage.
