DIRECTOR: SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY
In keeping with its vision and mission, the University of Limpopo seeks to appoint a dynamic, visionary and innovative leader in Higher Education to the position of the Director of the School of Accountancy. This is a renewable four-year term.
The successful applicant will report to the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Management and Law; and will provide academic leadership and manage the School of Accountancy, including the Africa Center for Sustainability Accounting and management (ACSAM).
The incumbent must meet the requirements and be responsible for key performance areas listed below:
Requirements:
1. A doctoral degree at National Qualifications Framework Level 10 in one of the disciplines in the School of Accountancy; or Master’s degree at National Qualifications Framework Level 9 in one of the disciplines in the School of Accountancy with registration as a Chartered Accountant (CA). Other management qualifications, diploma and certificates will be a strong recommendation.
2. Be a fellow member of a professional accounting body such as the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
3. Knowledge, understanding and experience of Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), Council on Higher education (CHE) and their related statutory regulatory environments.
4. Good understanding of the SAICA regulatory environment, and of its networks and activities.
5. A track record of no less than 8 years of experience as an Academic at a Higher Education institution, five (5) years of which was in Academic Management and Leadership of Academic Units involved with Teaching and Learning, Research and Community Engagement or at least two (2) years of Academic and Management/Leadership Experience for CAs
6. Research publications and successful supervision of postgraduate students at the Master’s or Doctoral level are added advantage.
7. Knowledge of digital transformation, and the use of online platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
8. Experience of or in leading academic programme accreditations and programme reviews will be an added advantage.

The applicant’s responsibilities, in particular, will be in relation to the following key performance areas:
1. Academic leadership
Ensure implementation of policies and decisions taken by academic policy making bodies.
Co-ordinate academic activities in the areas of tuition, research and community engagement at the School.
Initiate forward planning in terms of new and relevant course structure and relevant academic development, as well as the demands of future expansion.
Develop and implement teaching and learning programmes within the academic disciplines presented by the School and promote inter-disciplinary co-operation and innovation.
Set research priorities, develop research partnership and build research capacity within the relevant fields.
Establish, maintain and extend the School’s contact with other academic and research institution and related professional bodies
Mentor and promote post-graduate students.
2. Management
Ensure optimal utilisation of resources (human, financial and infrastructural) to meet the School’s short and long-term academic goals.
Manage interpersonal conflicts and relationship in a fair, equitable and professional manner.
Manage/co-ordinate the recruitment, appointment and placement of staff.
Manage change and institutional culture processes at the level of the School.
Promote social responsibility, awareness and engagement with external stakeholders.
3. Student Affairs
Interact with students and deal with students’ affairs such as admission of students, ensuring that mentors of staff are accessible to students and that students are treated with courtesy and consideration.
Promote healthy relations between students and staff members within the School and the speedy resolution of problems raised by individual students and student representatives.
Ensure, where necessary, that the Faculty is made aware of the need for academic development programmers in improving complete student experience.
4. Academic Citizenship
Acts as champion for ventures and projects in the School.
Actively get involved as academic leader in University policy committees.
Acts on behalf of the Faculty and the University in committees.
5. Communication
Ensue that decisions taken at meetings of the Faculty are communicated to heads of department of the School.
Acts as representative of Executive Management at the level of the School, ensuring that key messages relating to institutional strategy, goals and objectives are promoted.
Communicate the needs and interests of the School and its students to the University and the Faculty.
Terms of Appointment:
The appointment to this position will be on a four-year contract basis, after which the incumbent can be transferred to an academic position in a relevant department, if not re-appointed as a Director of the School of Accountancy

Requirements:
1. A doctoral degree at National Qualifications Framework Level 10 in one of the disciplines in the School of Law; or Master’s degree at National Qualifications Framework Level 9, in one of the disciplines in the School of Law with registration as a legal practitioner either as an attorney or Advocate of the high court in South Africa. Other management qualifications, diploma and certificates will be a strong recommendation.
2. Knowledge, understanding and experience of Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), Council on Higher education (CHE) and their related statutory regulatory environments.
3. Understanding of the South African legal profession in general; and the Society of Law Teachers of South Africa (SLTSA), the Legal Practice Council (LPC) Law and Legal Society of South Africa (LSSA) networks and activities.

DIRECTOR: SCHOOL OF LAW
In keeping with its vision and mission, the University of Limpopo seeks to appoint a dynamic, visionary and innovative leader in Higher Education to the position of the Director of the School of Law. This is a renewable four-year term.
The successful applicant will report to the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Management and Law; and will provide academic leadership and manage the School of Law, including the Legal Aid Clinic.
The incumbent must meet the requirements and be responsible for key performance areas listed below:
Requirements:
1. A doctoral degree at National Qualifications Framework Level 10 in one of the disciplines in the School of Law; or Master’s degree at National Qualifications Framework Level 9, in one of the disciplines in the School of Law with registration as a legal practitioner either as an attorney or Advocate of the high court in South Africa. Other management qualifications, diploma and certificates will be a strong recommendation.
2. Knowledge, understanding and experience of Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), Council on Higher education (CHE) and their related statutory regulatory environments.
3. Understanding of the South African legal profession in general; and the Society of Law Teachers of South Africa (SLTSA), the Legal Practice Council (LPC) Law and Legal Society of South Africa (LSSA) networks and activities.
4. A track record of no less than 8 years of experience as an Academic at a Higher Education institution, five (5) years of which was in Academic Management and Leadership of Academic Units involved with Teaching and Learning, Research and Community Engagement.
5. Research publications and successful supervision of postgraduate students at the Master's or Doctoral level are added advantages.
6. Knowledge of digital transformation, and the use of online platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
7. Experience of or in leading academic programme accreditations and programme reviews will be an added advantage.

The University of Limpopo is looking for an experienced and exceptional Chief Audit Executive to head its Internal Audit function.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: -
Direct and manage internal audit operations, ensuring compliance with the university policies, regulations and procedures.
Develop and execute the annual audit plan.
Oversee the development and implementation of the audit strategy, policies and procedures.
Leading the planning, execution and reporting on internal audit engagements.

Excellent knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws rules and regulations.
Strong knowledge of auditing procedures, including planning, techniques and tests as well as sampling methods involved in conducting audits.
