COLLEGE OF LAW AND MANAGEMENT STUDIES POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS: 2025 (9 positions) REFERENCE NUMBER: CLMS 02/2025
 
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one-year Postdoctoral Research Scholarships in the College of Law and Management Studies, University of KwaZulu-Natal. The successful applicants will be expected to engage in full-timepostdoctoral studies on an approved research program under the supervision of a member of the academic staff in one of the Schools of the College (the School of Law; the School of Commerce; or the Graduate School of Business and Leadership) as well as at the College level. Renewal for a second year is dependent on a satisfactory progress report and proof of publication in DoHET-accredited journals. Successful postdoctoral research scholars are to be based at UKZN for the duration of the scholarship. 
 
Minimum requirements 
▪A doctoral degree relevant to the disciplines in the College of Law and Management Studies, obtained in the last five years.
▪Be below 45 years of age at the time of the application. Candidates between 45 – 50years of age can be considered with motivation.
▪Research track record as evidenced by at least one peer-reviewed article in a DHET- journal article. The candidate must be the first author, and the article must have been published in the last three years
Preference will be given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groups.

▪A full curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.
▪A certified copy of a PhD certificate.
▪A certified copy of ID or passport.
▪A SAQA certificate (if the doctoral degree was obtained outside South Africa).
▪A synopsis of doctoral research detailing the research already published and thatwhich is still in progress for publication.
▪For candidates proposing their own project, a one-page proposal is required outliningthe research area and the proposed project(s) to be undertaken during thepostdoctoral appointment period.

The role of the position is to implement policies & procedures to meet private accommodation requirements and needs for UKZN students. To ensure that all listings (private accommodation) are fully compliant in terms of legislated Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) Minimum Norms and Standards for the Provision of Student Accommodation. To provide professional information service to landlords regarding letting homes, flats, apartments, B&Bs lodges and cottages through onboarding on the MyNSFAS portal. Assist with the Onboarding of students on the MyNSFAS portal. He/She shall be responsible for the administration of private accommodation service and provide overall support to the Department of Student Residence Affairs in trying to meet the demands for the shortage of student accommodation. He/She will be the liaison person between DSRA, Student Funding Centre and NSFAS in terms of private accommodation related matters. The position reports to the Head of Department: DSRA Westville Campus. 
 
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) and a 3-year relevant qualification. 
• Two (2) years’ experience in a student housing environment 
• A valid and unendorsed Driver’s license 
• Experience building relations with landlords, community and tenants (students).
• Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations 
• Computer Literate – demonstrated experience in use of MS Office packages 
 
The total remuneration package offered includes R17 196.00.

The School of Nursing and Public Health wishes to appoint Academics who will contribute actively to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, learning, research, and community engagement.
