MANAGER: QUALITY ASSURANCE OF ASSESSMENT - ADULT EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Requirements
An appropriate recognised Honours Degree in education. At least 5-10 years’ experience in the education and training sector and 5 years managerial experience. Extensive knowledge of and insight into policy and legislation that governs the Adult Education and Training (AET) sector, the General and Further Education and Training Quality Assurance Act, (GENFETQA), 2001 as amended and the National Qualifications Framework Act (NQF), 2008, as amended. Abreast with current assessment and moderation practices in education and training. Knowledge and experience in the moderation / verification of assessments and examinations. The ability to conceptualise, do research, write reports, and formulate policies in terms of quality assurance of assessments will be required. The successful applicant must be, self-managing and possess good communication, interpersonal, facilitation co-ordination and project management skills. A valid driver’s licence is essential. Proven knowledge and experience in conducting /managing assessments in the adult education and training sector for the General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) and Senior Certificate (SC). Develop and implement appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure credible examinations / assessment systems for the GETC Computer literacy is a compulsory requirement.
 
Duties
Draw up and oversee implementation of the annual sub-unit plan and budget, and report on expenditure and progress. •Accurate reporting on performance information (APP)•To manage and coordinate the sub-unit responsible for the quality assurance of assessment for the GETC. Lead the development, implementation and management of the quality assurance of internal and external assessments conducted in the AET sector. This will entail policy development and implementation, establishment and monitoring of quality assurance systems •Manage the conduct of monitoring site examinations and assessments. Evaluating of assessment bodies assessment processes, developing reports and monitoring improvement plans. Appointment and training of external moderators. Reporting on the GETC quality assurance processes •Perform other tasks delegated by the Senior Manager.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPER (ASP.NET MVC C#)

Requirements
A 3-year national diploma or bachelor’s degree in information and communication technology (Software Development) and/or equivalent. • A minimum of 3 years’ working experience in developing and maintaining .NET web applications using Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.Net, ASP.NET Core, API’s, MS SQL). • Angular 6+ knowledge will be advantageous. • Extensive knowledge back-end development and database design. • Knowledge of systems analysis. • Working knowledge of SSIS and SSRS. • Experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software development methodologies. • Proficient verbal and written communication skills - especially with regard to compiling technical documentation are essential. • Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals which include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
 
Duties
Design, create and maintain applications using the .NET platform and environment. • Transform requirements into functional applications in line with business objectives • Maintain and upgrade existing applications. • Rewriting/making changes in existing code structure to increase efficiency and performance • Offer technical support for web applications • Integrate data storage systems and maintain code quality • Identify bottlenecks and address issues to ensure the best performance. • Test, monitor, and make better solutions through incremental updates/new features/app optimization. • Provide training to end users on systems or applications developed.

Duties
Facilitate the organisation's development, maintenance and implementation of risk policies and procedures. •Liaise with business unit Managers to oversee the development and maintenance of the organisational risk registers. •Ensure risk management is fully integrated into the organisational strategic planning, monitoring and reporting •Implement incident monitoring processes to improve controls on the reported risks. •Establish and facilitate the use of appropriate methodologies, tools, and techniques in risk management •Assists in risk reporting to the Risk Management Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and the Council. •Identify the risk management training needs of the organisation's risk champions. •Identify emergent risks and report to the relevant stakeholders. •Liaise with the Unit managers on the adequacy of the proposed actions in managing risk areas highlighted in the internal audit risk reporting. •Liaise with both Internal and External Auditors on Risk Management.
