High levels of insight into and knowledge of education, and in particular the South African education system and education policies. Must be able to identify and raise issues in education and training especially within Umalusi’s constituency which is schooling, vocational and adult education and training on NQF 1-4. Must be able to conceptualize and conduct credible research; and write up research findings in a manner that will stand up to scrutiny. The ability to work under pressure is a pre-requisite. Proficient in computer skills and in particular with Microsoft Office Suite.
Duties
Provide research-based strategic support to the organisation. Conduct research for Umalusi in agreed priority areas. Lead research initiatives with teams and contracted researchers. Support operational units of Umalusi by integrating researched findings and approaches into the work. Lead the conceptualisation and theoretical framing of quantitative research initiatives in particular. Write concept notes, research reports and position papers where needed. Present research findings both within the organisation and at public events. Conceptualize and coordinate seminars, colloquiums and conferences hosted by Umalusi. Review draft research outputs produced in-house and by external researchers. Build staff capacity in preparation for conferences. Contribute to the preparation of quarterly reports. Carry out any other research related assignments assigned by the organisation.

Three( 3) degree or national diploma in Information and Communication Technology and/or equivalent qualification • 3 years of appropriate practical ICT experience in developing Microsoft SharePoint applications and performing administrative maintenance on SharePoint • Microsoft SharePoint Certification • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation • Hands-on development and delivery of web-based applications • Microsoft SharePoint Online • Microsoft SharePoint Designer • Microsoft online services including Office 365 • Microsoft SQL Server • High-level coding skills • Extensive knowledge of C#, ASP.NET and .NET Frameworks • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, jQuery, SQL Server, and Web Services • Experience in SDLC and software development methodologies.
Duties
Develop projects from start to finish on Microsoft SharePoint • Supporting users with all aspects of SharePoint utilization • Updating and management of SharePoint sites • Administration of SharePoint Online and certain aspects of Office 365 administration • Developing customized applications • Development using Microsoft Power Apps • Implement Microsoft SharePoint-based workflows as well as to design, develop and maintain key components utilizing SharePoint Online • System integration development and management • Develop prototypes and create robust production-ready applications • Develop intranet-based applications using platform • Creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, workflows, approvals, and alerts • Responsible for ensuring that all applications development efforts meet and or exceed client expectations • Testing • Provide training to end users • Weekly progress reporting on activities assigned.
