Requirements
A post-graduate qualification in Strategic Management and/ or Business Administration/ Auditing. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Strategic Planning, Management of performance information, Execution, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting of organisational strategies and annual performance plans/ programmes. Management and response to audits, Corporate governance guidelines and the development of policies and strategies. Management of the framework for risk governance, Risk management compliance. Duties
Manage, facilitate, develop and implement Umalusi strategic and Annual Performance Plans. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the strategy. Report on performance information. Manage projects that fall under strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation. Implement a compliance management strategy. Coordinate and monitor preparation of Annual, Quarterly and monthly Reports and other reports including presentations on Strategic and Operational plans and performance information. Communicate and train best practice methodologies and standards for a compliance function. Compile the annual compliance management implementation plan for the organisation. Report the progress of the deliverables of the plan to relevant committees. Oversee the risk management activities within the organisation. Manage compliance to risk management policies, procedures and systems.

ASSISTANT MANAGER: CERTIFICATION

Requirements
An appropriate, recognized 3 year post matric qualification in Information Computer Technology/Public Administration/Public Management or related qualification. 2 Years supervisory experience with 3 Years’ experience in certification work relating to the National Senior Certificate/the Senior Certificate; (NATED)/Technical Certificates (N3 and NSC (colleges))/ the National Certificate (Vocational), and/or the GETC (ABET), or certification in a related field. The successful incumbent must have proven knowledge, experience and understanding of the certification/examination process for public and private education institutions. Experience with the operations and functions of certification IT systems to quality assures results and issue certificates. Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with extensive PC skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent telephone etiquette, stakeholder liaison skills coupled with good interpersonal relations as well as the ability to manage an extensive filing system. Good communication and writing skills, accurate data capturing skills, the ability to work independently, handle enquiries and work under pressure are requirements. Duties
The successful candidate will be required to: co-ordinate the sub-unit responsible for the certification and development of quality assurance processes related to certification of the qualifications quality assured by Umalusi. Plan, implement and assist with the management of the certification and verification and related processes, including the guidance in development of the necessary systems to perform these functions. Assist in the development of Umalusi’s approach to setting standards for new and existing certification processes. Assist in the development of certification of qualifications, the issuing and maintenance of records and the verification of such records. Support cross-cutting work in the organization and to work skilfully with a diverse range of stakeholders. Work extensively with policy development. Work extensively with the Departments of Education and all Assessment Bodies. Process requests for the certification of learner achievements receive from Assessment Bodies. Quality assures the results of candidates, certify as correct and the issuing of certificates. ? Manage the individual helpdesk for certification related to the issuing of replacement certificates via the online application system. Manage the development and maintenance of the online application system for replacement certificates.

MANAGER: EVALUATION AND ACCREDITATION (EVALUATION AND VERIFICATION)

Requirements
An Honours degree in Education with specialisation in assessment, curriculum, education management or education policy • A professional teaching qualification • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the education field with at least five (5) years at management level • At least five years’ recent experience in an environment offering the NSC/CAPS • Experience in the evaluation and accreditation of independent schools and/or private colleges • Experience in the private college / TVET sector will be an added advantage • Current registration with the South African Council for Educators • Valid drivers’ license
Duties
Competencies and skills: • In depth understanding of the South African Education landscape • Experience in developing strategic documents • Experience in policy drafting, maintenance and implementation • Presentation of good quality work • Self-managing, dynamic and self-motivated • Good interpersonal, planning, execution, project management, technical, facilitation, training, and co-ordination skills • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) • Leadership skills • Management of financial and human resources • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills Duties: • Draw up and oversee implementation of the annual sub-unit plan and budget, and report on expenditure and progress • Accurate reporting on performance information (APP) • Manage sub-unit operations and compliance to legal and regulatory requirements • Ensure the smooth running of the Accreditation process • Develop and quality assure accreditation, improvement, Extension of Scope and appeal reports for timeous submission to the Accreditation Committee of Council (ACC) • Oversee the continued maintenance and improvement of the quality assurance of independent schools and private colleges • Manage the conduct of and reporting on site visits • Build stakeholder relationships • Coordinate activities for meetings with Department of Basic Education and Provincial Education Department officials • Build constructive and positive relationships with all stakeholders and constituencies and promote quality through provider forums, information sessions, etc. • Induct all new staff in the sub-unit • Supervise the work of, coach and mentor the sub-unit staff and independent contract workers to ensure building of internal capacity and capability to effectively execute sub-unit objectives • Develop a draft framework for the quality assurance of the offering of new qualifications and modes of offering of qualifications on the General and Further Education and Training Qualifications Sub-framework • Perform other tasks delegated by the Senior Manager
