UMALUSI
Umalusi, the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training is a statutory Quality Council which quality assures education provision in General and Further Education and Training. This body seeks to appoint suitable persons with the relevant qualifications and experience to the following posts. The Council intends to promote representivity through the filling of these posts.
ASSISTANT MANAGER: PUBLICATIONS AND EVENTS
Reference Number: GOCEO/05/10
Salary (per annum): R 512,769
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Public Relations, Journalism or Communication (An honours degree or postgraduate diploma will be an added advantage)
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in events management, public relations, corporate communication and publications
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Planning and organisational competencies, knowledge and experience in website and intranet management, and ability and experience in the coordination and management of projects, seminars, webinars and conferences
- The ability to work under pressure is essential
- Experience in stakeholder relations and media liaison
- Must be willing to travel
- Proficiency in computer skills especially Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have a driver’s license
Duties
- Management of logistics for research-related and organizational events, conferences and public forums; providing pertinent advice on the design, layout and printing of publications and dissemination of organisational annual reports; newsletters, research reports, other publications and promotional materials
- Updating and maintenance of the website, intranet and maintenance of the corporate image
- Conceptualization and implementation of communication plans in line with the corporate communication strategy
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and service providers as required.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPER (ASP.NET MVC C#)

Requirements
- An appropriate, recognised degree/diploma in Information and Communication Technology (Software Development) and/or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years’ actual working experience in developing Microsoft web based solutions. •A minimum of 3 years’ experience in C#, ASP.NET and MS SQL
- -year Experience in ASP.NET MVC, AngularJS/ knockout will be advantageous • Extensive knowledge of Database design
- Sound knowledge of systems analysis. • Working knowledge of SSIS and SSRS
- Experience in SDLC and software development methodologies.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills - especially with regard to compiling user specifications and technical documentation are essential.
- Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals which include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint; MS Outlook
- Passion to help improve operations continuously
Duties
- Design, develop and maintain server based Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Design, develop and deploy Web applications in ASP.NET MVC C#
- Maintaining existing systems
- System analysis and design
- Testing of systems
- Provide training to end users
- Monthly progress reporting on activities assigned.
- Presentation, communication and writing and administrative skills
