Requirements
An honours degree in statistics or mathematics or equivalent with a strong educational background. At least 5 years’ experience in general and further education and training, with at least 3 years at middle managerial level. Self-motivated and self-managing individual. An in-depth understanding of the education and training system and the legislative framework that informs Umalusi work. Experience in database management and processing. Knowledge of approaches to educational quality assurance and practices locally and internationally would be an added advantage. Another added advantage would be experience in SQL. Advance Microsoft Excel skills. Strong coordination and administrative skills. Report writing skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. An official code 8 driver’s license is required. Willingness to travel regularly and ability to work within tight timelines.
Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to: Process and manage the standardisation, statistical moderation and resulting processes. Draw up and oversee implementation of the annual sub-unit plan and budget, and report on expenditure and progress. Ensure the smooth running of the Assessment Standards Committee and the standardisation and resulting sub-unit. Manage sub-unit operations, compliance to legal and regulatory requirements; build stakeholder relationships. Perform any other tasks delegated by the Senior and Executive Management.
