• Participate in re-curriculation processes concerning the School of Education. 
• Assist with students’ inquiries related to the subject of the BEd Honors course. 
• Promote ethics, excellence and quality in teaching and learning. 
• Participate in marketing and recruitment strategies of the department 
 
Minimum requirements:

• A Master’s Degree in Education specializing in Physical Sciences.

The Department of MSBE, within the Faculty of Humanities, is seeking to appoint a Part-Time Lecturer at the Soshanguve North Campus. The position involves teaching the following subject: Physical Science (Chemistry Education). 
 
Key performance areas/Core functions: 
• Teach Physical Science (Chemistry Education) and related Didactics at undergraduate for FPY106P and FPY206P levels. 
• Presenting lecturers and assessing students in Physical Science (Chemistry) B Ed (FET) specialization: 
• Be responsible for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning in the field. 
• Involvement in the development of new curriculum in the programme in line with the new HEQC structures; 
• Administration of work integrated learning; 
• Assisting HOD and/or section head with matters relating to Physical Science programme; 
• Student mentorship. Consultations, performance monitoring and interventions; 
• Networking with the Colleges and schools, including Advisory Committee meetings; 
• Provide leadership in developing relationship with the Physical Science programme Involvement in community project 
• Responsible for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning in the programme. 
 
Minimum requirements: 
1. Academic qualifications: 
• A master’s in Physical Sciences, especially Chemistry, as our priority is with a drive to work at the cutting edge of the field. 
• MSc with PGCE with Physical Science (Chemistry) 
2. Experience: 
• Demonstrate a depth of understanding in the Science Education field as well as the ability to teach courses in Physical Science, especially Chemistry. 
• Three years teaching experience in the FET band field. 
• Knowledge in the area of Maths Science and Business Education. 
3. Registration with South African Council for Educators (SACE).

Key performance areas/Core functions:
The lecturer in the Department of Primary Education, in the School of Education, is an academic leader responsible for teaching and managing activities of teaching and learning and assist with curricula developments in line Minimum Requirements for Teacher Education Qualifications (MRTEQ) requirements of the department including that he/she:
• Must teach General Education and Training subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels with specialization in one of the GET learning areas; Home Language: Setswana and Language of Conversational Competence: LoCC: Setswana.
• Must be a strategic and innovative thinker, with excellent conceptualization and analytical skills of the General Education and Training bands.
• Must be able to interact with others on all levels, including supervisors, colleagues, and students.
• Should demonstrate academic skills in the curricula processes in accordance with the current MRTEQ requirements.
• Must be able to work interdependently with others and be a self-starter in the teaching and learning activities of the GETs.
• Engender a collegial environment of intellectual exchange and infuse critical teaching and learning rigour in the department.
• Must have experience in creating and managing team-oriented tasks.
• Upload module content on Brightspace;
• Be actively involved in departmental activities;
• Attend departmental and subject meetings per invitation;
• Complete a TUT Licence to Teach programme;
• Attend training on TUT Learning Management System; and

Minimum requirements:
Academic qualifications:
• A Master’s Degree in Language Practice, African Languages, Linguistics, Setswana or any equivalent relevant qualification.
• A Doctoral Degree in any of the above-mentioned qualifications will be an added advantage.
 
Experience:
• Three years lecturing experience within Higher Education is required.
• Full proficiency in the language of teaching is mandatory.
• Paper presentation(s) in local seminars or conferences and publication(s) in DHET accredited journals will also be an added advantage.
• Advanced presentation skills.
• Proven ability in using teaching technology.

Gym Assistant
Ga-Rankuwa Campus

The Directorate of Sport & Recreation has a part time- position for a Gym Assistant at Ga-Rankuwa Campus from 01 February 2025 to 31 December 2025. 
NB: The position has been identified and intended for all internal and external candidates. 
 
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. 
 
Key performance areas: 
• Customer service and member assistance 
• Facility and equipment maintenance 
• Health and safety compliance 
• Administrative support 
• Support for fitness programs and events 
• Record-keeping and reporting 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Grade 12 (NQF level 4). A qualification in Sport Management, Kinesiology and Coaching Science, or any other sport related qualification will be an added advantage. 
• Safeguarding efficiency certificate. 
• Basic first aid qualification level 1. 
• Code 8 Driver’s license. 
• No criminal record. 
 
Experience:
• 1 year experience working at a gym. 
 
Knowledge & skills: 
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Exceptional organisational skills. 
• Excellent customer service. 
• Teamwork and multitasking skills.
