The Faculty of Economics and Finance has a position of part-time Lecturer: Public Sector Finance at the Ga-Rankuwa campus to teach the modules in Public Finance Law in the second semester to registered second year and third year Diploma in Public Finance Students.
Preference will be given to qualifying South Africans, including persons with disability and women.
Please note that this part-time appointment will be for 6-hours per week for lecturing during the week.
Key Performance Areas/ Core Functions:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Lecturing of Public Finance Law in second semester to registered second year and third year Diploma in Public Finance Students;
• To be responsible for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning;
• Provide teaching and learning with the integration of technology in Public Sector Finance;
• To be responsible for administrative tasks related to (but not limited to) teaching and learning, such as marking of scripts, maintaining and subject portfolio file, capturing of marks;
• Participate in subject and curriculum committees;
• Participate in Departmental, Faculty and institutional initiatives;
• Lead and participate in community engagement projects;
• Compile and maintain quality study guides, examination question papers and memorandums as well as subject files; and
• liaise with the industry, advisory committee meetings, industry visits and other related activities.
Minimum qualifications:
1. Academic Qualifications:
• A Masters degree in Cost and Managerial Accounting or equivalent relevant qualification or relevant qualification in Public Finance Law.
2. Experience:
• At least 3 years lecturing in the relevant subject, research and industry experience, or other discipline related work will be highly recommended.
• Excellent written, oral, communication, presentation and computer skills as well as the ability to work with students, to conduct workshops, seminars etc.
• Research experience is strongly recommended and in particular, proof of participation in research activities.
3. Registration with professional bodies
• Membership and involvement in the professional societies of the discipline as well as professional registration are recommended.

Competencies
- The candidate should have experience in a programming language similar to C/C++, sequential logic circuits, ATmega328P microcontroller and Proteus software. Experience in C/C++ itself will be very beneficial.
- The candidate should have experience in the Embedded Systems field, including the basics of embedded and digital systems, microcontroller programming, and designing circuits containing microcontrollers and other components.
- Experience in different networks, Bluetooth, Modbus, and other protocols would be of added advantage.
Requirements
- A minimum Master’s (MEng/ MTech/ MScEng) degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience
- Must have at least two years of lecturing experience in an institution of higher learning, or at least three years of industry experience in the listed subjects
