 The Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering require the services of part-time Lecturers for the following Chemical Engineering subjects, paid per hour up to a maximum of 12 hours per week:

Minimum Requirements 
  • MEng/ MSc/ MTech qualification in Chemical Engineering for BEngTech Chemical Engineering subjects. 
  • MEng/ MSc/ MTech qualification in Mechanical Engineering for Engineering Graphics module. 
  • 3 years relevant teaching experience at Tertiary level and/or 3 years’ experience in industry. 
 
Critical performance arrears: 
  • Lecturing of the above-named subjects. 
  • Standard academic duties and responsibilities. 
  • Evaluate students on a continuous basis as well as administer tests and assignments according to study guides. 
  • Community service and Industry Liaison 
  • Research, innovation, or community involvement 
  • Setting, preparing, and conducting lectures for the subjects. 
  • Marking all assessments.

Key performance areas: 
The candidate must be able to:

  • maintaining a subject portfolio file and capturing of marks;

  • be actively involved in departmental activities; 
  • attend departmental and subject meetings per invitation; 
  • complete a TUT Licence to Teach programme; 
  • attend training on TUT Learning Management System; and 
  • perform any other duty assigned by the Head of Department, Section Head or Subject Coordinator. 
 
Minimum requirements: 
 
Academic qualifications: 
  • A Master’s Degree in Language Practice, African Languages, Linguistics, English or any equivalent relevant qualification. 
  • A Doctoral Degree in any of the above-mentioned qualifications will be an added advantage. 
 
Experience: 
  • Three years lecturing experience within Higher Education is required. 
  • Full proficiency in the language of teaching is mandatory. 
  • Paper presentation(s) in local seminars or conferences and publication(s) in DHET accredited journals will also be an added advantage. 
  • Advanced presentation skills. 
  • Proven ability in using teaching technology.

The Department of Technology and Vocational Education in the Faculty of Humanities seeks to appoint a Lab Technician: Engineering Graphics and Design at the Soshanguve North Campus.
 
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a fully completed standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Key performance areas/Core functions: 
• Teaching Computer Aided drawing and drawing Instrument practicals in Engineering Graphics and Design modules from the following programs: 
 
1. Bed Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Phase and. 
2. Diploma in Adult and Community Education and Training. 
• Involvement in one of the research groups of the Department. 
• Engagement in community projects. 
• Participate in Departmental, Faculty and Institutional activities. 
• Responsible for administrative tasks relating to the practical activities of the Engineering Graphics and Design modules 
 
Minimum requirements: 
Academic qualifications: 
• A relevant B: Ed Honors degree with an Engineering Graphics and Design specialisation 
 
Experience:
• 3 years relevant experience at Technician level.

The Department of Technology and Vocational Education in the Faculty of Humanities seeks to appoint a Part-Time Lab Technician–Senior Phase Technology at the Soshanguve North campus

• Offering practical classes in the workshop for Senior Phase Technology modules from the following programs: 
1. Bed Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Phase and. 
2. Diploma in Adult and Community Education and Training. 
• Preparation of experiments and material for practical work for students. 
• Supervise and assist students during practical work and conduct practical sessions. 
• Regular maintenance of all equipment and infrastructure in the laboratory (regular inspections/troubleshooting, installation, requisitions for maintenance, managing laboratory access, etc.) 
• Occupational Health and Safety management in the workshop. 
• Do safety inspections and regular risk assessments. 
• Supervise and assist students on field trips in collaboration with lecturers. 
• Teaching, research, and relevant experience in industry would be a strong recommendation. 
• Engagement in community projects. 
• Participate in Departmental, Faculty and Institutional activities. 
• Responsible for administrative tasks relating to the practical activities of the Senior Phase Technology modules.

The Tshwane School for Business and Society (TSB) invites applications for a versatile Departmental Administrator for the Tshwane School for Business and Society for TSB’s Executive Development Programmes. The position is at TSB, Ditsela Place, 1204 Park Street, Hatfield. 
 
Critical Performance Areas 
Learning Management System Administrative Support: 
  • Upload and maintain learning content, schedules, and participant access. 
  • Provide LMS technical support to participants and facilitators. 
  • Monitor usage analytics and assist with quality assurance and reporting. 
 
Programme Coordination and Administration: 
  • Manage registration, enrolment, scheduling, and participant communications. 
  • Organise programme logistics including venues, catering, transport, and printing. 
  • Oversee onboarding of facilitators and maintain facilitator databases. 
  • Liaise with clients, students, and faculty regarding programme arrangements 
 
Logistical and Event Coordination: 
  • Coordinate with faculty, participants, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth programme operations. 
  • Organise and oversee events such as networking sessions, seminars, and certification ceremonies. 
 
Communication and Liaison: 
  • Act as a liaison between departments to align all aspects of programme delivery 
  • Support social media and marketing communications related to EDPs 
  • Assist in content creation for digital and printed brochures. 
 
Assisting Participants: 
  • Serve as the first point of contact for participant queries. 
  • Provide on boarding and logistical/technical support throughout the programme. 
 
Financial Administrative Support: 
Support the Project Manager and Financial Administrator with invoicing and recordkeeping. 
Track budgets, facilitate procurement, and monitor tender opportunities. 
 
Documentation & Quality Assurance: 
  • Maintain partner records and programme documentation. 
  • Support programme close-out processes and gather participant/faculty feedback 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • NQF level 6 (A relevant 3-year qualification)-Business Administration, Administrative Information Management, Public Management plus 
  • Three (3) years’ relevant experience at Secretary/ Research Administration Experience/ Departmental Administrator Assistant level that includes exposure to the following programme administration, learning management system course development administration (i.e Brightspace, Learnworlds) 
  • Financial Administration using an institutional system (i.e ITS, iEnabler, HEDA/MIS) 
  • Experience with social media content development and/or email campaigns is advantageous. 
  • Academic and Training Programme Administration 
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication 
  • Digital office administration 
  • Financial and procurement support. 
 
Essential Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Knowledge of Instructional Design for Executive Development Programmes or Short Learning Programmes. 
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in managing online learning platforms. 
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite design tools 
  • Basic skills in Canva or similar platforms, social media scheduling, and content planning. 
  • Advanced digital literacy MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Docs/Sheets, and online tools like Canva or Forms. 
  • Skilled in using SharePoint 
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in managing online learning platforms. 
  • Understanding of budgets, invoices, procurement workflows, and record-keeping. 
  • Professional writing, interpersonal skills, ability to interact with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Strong organisational skills for time management, scheduling, multi-tasking across projects.
