To be eligible for selection for an nGAP post, applicants must meet the following criteria, specified by the university:
- Show interest in becoming an academic
- Obtained at least 70% average marks for Masters degree and academic transcripts should be attached
- Be 40 years or younger
- Show evidence of eligibility to undertake postgraduate study at Doctoral level
- Be willing to commit to placement at the appointing university for the full 6 years of the programme
- 80% of the appointees in the university must be Blacks (African, Coloured and Indian men and women including people with disabilities), of which at least 55% of the positions should be taken up by Black women. The permanent residents and other categories can be considered through the remainder of 20% based on substantial motivation. Priority must be accorded to persons who are 40 years or younger in age.

The Sport, Rehabilitation and Dental Sciences department, Faculty of Science requires the services of a Student Tutor (Part time)
Critical Performance Areas
•Assisting undergraduate students on Sport Science, Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics, Dental Technology and Biokinetics modules listed below
•Prepare and submit progress reports on a regular basis as required by coordinator
•Assist with academic support activities as planned by the Academic Excellence Coordinator, e.g. Information sessions, Orientation activities and refer students to SDS when required. Appointment will be for a maximum of 12 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements
•Registered for National Dip: Officiating and Coaching Science / Kinesiology and Coaching Science (at 3rd level) / BHSC Biokinetics / Masters Degree in Kinesiology and Coaching Science / Biokinetics
•Academic record with major subjects
•Proficiency in MS Office and other computer programmes
•Full proficiency in English is a prerequisite
•Preference will be given to post graduate students
