Position Purpose
To install and repair 3kV DC, 25kV AC, 50kV AC Traction Substations; 11kV AC Distribution Substations, and Tele control units as result of planned or unplanned construction work to ensure that TFR operating division meet their goals and objectives.
 
Position Outputs
§ Perform Installations of 3 kV DC, 25 kV AC, 50 kV AC and 11 kV AC Traction and Transmission substations
§ Perform substation installations of primary circuit breakers, isolators, lightning arrestors, battery chargers, rectifiers, control panels, transformers, flying bus bars, motorised isolators, Telecontrol units, interlocking and negative returns.
§ Do high voltage cable joints and terminations.
§ Display good fitness level and health.
§ Wire from complex panel wiring diagrams for AC/DC panels.
§ Read, interpret and understand electrification layout and associated drawings.
§ Understanding functioning of hand tools machines
§ Assess and monitor condition of hand tools and measuring tools.
§ Be able to observe that an occupation is granted, and permit book is signed prior to commencing work.
 
Qualifications and Experience
§ Qualified electrician with at least 5 years’ experience in 3 kV DC, 25 kV AC, 50 kV AC and 11 kV AC Traction and Transmission substations § Wireman’s license from Electrical Contracting Board an advantage § Be in possession of a C code driver’s licence, be competent and prepared to drive such vehicles. § Be eligible to be assessed and practically passed out on 3 kV and 11 kV AC substation within 3 months of appointment.

Position Purpose
• To develop and manage the control compliance to maintain a satisfactory control environment and providing stakeholder
assurance thereby assisting in the achievement of its strategies. implementation of sustainably effective internal controls across the Transnet Pipeline.
• Create a control environment that is conducive to the practice of efficient and effective Integrated Combined Assurance activities through design of adequate policies, procedures and frameworks, as well as appropriately designed accompanying instruments to enable proper Integrated Combined Assurance oversight, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting across Transnet Pipelines.
 
Position Outputs
1. Development of the Combined Risk Assurance Universe for TPL across strategic, tactical and operational levels and risks that includes all the auditable units, various risk factors to enable Executive and Senior management and related Governance forums to obtain a comprehensive, holistic view of the effectiveness of internal controls over their organisation’s governance, risk management, and key business processes to enable setting of priorities and to respond with any appropriate actions.
2. Co-ordination and optimisation of risk based assurance activities across TPL to reduce assurance costs, audit fatigue & frustrations, increase efficiencies and avoid duplication and create alignment to achieve strategic goals. Optimisation through planning and responding to the organisational objectives and targets, key performance indicators, resources, complexity of the internal and external operating environment, critical business activities, statutory obligations and the outcomes of prior internal and external assurance reviews.
3. Regularly update the Combined Risk Assurance Universe by continuously analysing assurance coverage and identify possible duplicates and areas of inadequate coverage and assess frequency of assurance activities i.e quarterly, annually, every three years etc.
4. Co-ordinate and review assurance reports and submission to the management committee of TPL established to coordinate and monitor the design and implementation of the Combined Assurance management processes and relevant outcomes.
5. Oversight and management of the Combined Assurance Management System that is used to integrate and report on Combined Assurance initiatives and status within TPL.
6. Assist in the development of assurance plans for the various lines of assurance within TPL. Monitoring status of corrective and preventative measures to drive the successful outcome of the Combined Assurance model at TPL.
7. Oversight of the resource planning to ensure the right competence for the assurance activities are sufficient and adequately resourced to complete the required assurance activities.
8. Lead the development and execution of lines of assurance in terms of professional standards and accreditation and levels of independence and objectivity.
9. Collaboration and integration with relevant assurance providers and management to ensure alignment to Combined Risk Assurance Universe and successful execution of lines of assurance.
10. Monitoring the activities of the internal and external auditors to ensure that sufficient, objective, reliable and relevant information is obtained to achieve the assurance plan objectives via prevent, detect and correct assurance activities.
11. Preparation of assurance reports that details outcomes of assurance reviews with the overall assurance assessment in line with relevant TPL Policies and Procedures.
12. Facilitate close out meetings with Executive and Senior Management to discuss and agree on Assurance reports, audit outcomes and action plans for any recommendations to enhance the assurance activities.
13. Monitoring and tracking of assurance outcomes and action plans arising from Assurance Reports to ensure recommendations are implemented to improve the control environment across TPL. Escalation of outcomes that have exceeded committed resolution dates and/or age analysis trends to Senior Manager Governance, Risk and Controls, Chief Financial Officer and other Executives.
14. Assist in training and awareness across TPL to ensure all stakeholders are adequately trained and knowledgeable on the Combined Assurance Policy and procedure outcomes.
15. Develop key performance indicators for relevant Combined Assurance stakeholders i.e. first, second and third lines of assurance to drive a culture of compliance and achievement of Combined Assurance deliverables.
16. Research Combined Assurance best practices for benchmarking and drive continuous improvement of the Combined Assurance function across TPL.
17. Provide technical support on Combined Assurance to all employees and stakeholders across TPL.
18. Presentation of Assurance Reports at Governance Forums across TPL and Transnet.
 
Qualifications and Experience
• Post graduate degree in risk, accounting or auditing • 6-8 years’ experience is in a financial compliance role is required, involved in conversion of risk, and provide improved controls. • Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19 Standard Job Requirements • Driver’s license code 08

Position Purpose
To act under supervision in assisting with maintenance, dredging operations, repairs and allocated work stations in order to form an create a well-managed and efficient part of a team to ensure the vessel remain seaworthy and to enhance ability of the craft to contribute towards the business goal.
 
Position Outputs
• To safely and efficiently handle ropes, wires, capstans and other deck or engine gear/equipment during shipping operations. • To carry out and participate in the maintenance duties on deck and/or engine room spaces of the crafts including (but not limited to) general maintenance and spot chipping of corroded spaces and fandering equipment. • To carry out and participate in maintenance of craft equipment, including (but not limited) general wash down of internal and external spaces, decks, superstructure, hull and/or engine room and workshop spaces. • To perform hygienic cleaning of all domestic areas including cabins, accommodation, heads and galley thereby ensuring safe and hygienic leaving conditions are maintained at all times.
• To carry out and participate in splicing of ropes and/or wires and making up of heaving lines as and when required. • To carry out and participate in routine testing of deck and/or engine room equipment, under the supervision of either Master and/or Marine Engineer. • To carry out and participate in emergency drills and procedures in line with safety requirements and best practices. • To carry out and participate in berthing duties (where safe to do so), moor/unmoor the craft alongside quays and rig gangways for safe access to the vessel.
• To comply with all safe working instructions and procedures, report any non- conformances to the vessel officers (Marine engineer and/or Master). • To carry out reasonable instructions as directed by vessel officers on-board (Marine engineer and/or Master) as determined from time-to-time for the safe and efficient running of the vessel. • To store and secure all equipment in designated areas for safety of the vessel. • To dispose of waste in designated areas/ bins.
• To maintain (at all times) the relevant personal qualifications and certificates of competencies in a valid mode and ensure records are kept safely and readily available for inspection when required. • To observe at all times the safety standards are followed thereby ensuring promotion of safety and wellbeing culture on-board the vessel. • To understand and comply all emergency signals and act accordingly. • To perform fire and emergency patrols and report accordingly. • To perform lookout duties.
 
Qualifications and Experience
• Valid Certificate of proficiency as an Able Seafarer Deck or Engine.
