Position outputs:
•Conduct post operation mechanical inspections on all mobile fleet equipment to prevent fault re-occurrence during the next operation.
•Examine, assess and conduct regular preventative maintenance on all mobile fleet equipment to ensure its reliability and maintenance a high level of availability.
•Examine, evaluate and monitor equipment for deviations in norms and functionality whilst in operation to detect and identify early warning signs in order to rectify malfunction before a major breakdown.
•Plan and prepare apprentices for on- the- job training in order to train and develop them according to their development plan, thereby ensuring skills are adequately transferred.
•Respond, establish and repair fault for breakdown in the quickest possible time to minimise operation downtime in line with safety standards.
•Assess and ascertain size of repair work and spares specifications required in order to inform and follow up with supervisor for ordering of parts to plan for repair in shortest timeframe thereby making equipment available for operations.
•Isolate mobile fleet equipment when work is in progress in order to maintain a safe working environment.
•In the absence of the supervisor, be able to make decisions as required on breakdowns or normal maintenance.
•Keeping the condition of the equipment as good as possible to get the maximum lifespan out of the equipment.
•Conduct rigging operation for the preparation of preventative maintenance and breakdowns.
•Perform standby duties as required
 
Qualifications & Experience:
•NTC3/Matric/NQF Level 4 – Red Seal Trade Test (Diesel Mechanic)
•Valid Code 08/B vehicle drivers licence
•2-3 Years relevant experience as a qualified artisan

Position Purpose:

Follow the roster provided by the Facilities Supervisor to rotate efficiently between the assigned areas that have to be cut.
Avoid wastage of fuel and consumables. Come up with some savings initiatives to control costs within your area of responsibility.
Do first line maintenance on the machines which includes checking of oil, fuel and cleaning the machines after use.
Work together in cooperation with the gardeners who have to collect after you and also clean some corners where the machine doesn’t reach.
Conduct all duties in a safe manner and contribute to safety talks and help promote a safety culture within the team.
Come up with some innovations and cost saving initiatives, e.g., on water usage for irrigation and fuel saving for the machines.
Always wear the correct protective clothing when performing your duties.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the Facilities Supervisors and gardeners and communicate well to understand any challenges related to your expected deliverables.
Promptly report any breakdown in the machines or any suspicion of a breakdown and not wait until the machine has damaged other components.
Do not abuse leave days and always arrange your leave with your Supervisor prior to taking it.

Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to ensure a quality financial accounting and reporting service. This includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed asset and revenue management.
 
Position outputs:
1. Reporting
# Oversee that the financial reporting requirements of Group and TPT are met (quality and deadlines) for month end, quarterly reporting, interim and year end.
# Review of monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual reporting to ensure that TPT's financial statements are valid, accurate and complete and comply to the relevant accounting standards, policies and procedures
# Review of consolidated trial balance and the chair the Finance teams review of the consolidated trial balance
# Co-ordinate all external audits (interim and year-end) and internal audits ensuring that no major reporting items exist.
# Review of all the HQ general ledger reconciliations, journals and inter/intra
# company transactions that impact on the TPT Financial statements.
# Ensure all the TPT reporting requirements are met timeously.
2. Business Process Owner of Financial Accounting Processes, including the following sub-processes:
o Payments (as line manager to General Ledger Manager)
# Perform the role of a bank signatory, by reviewing creditors reconciliations for creditors payments, foreign payments, CAPEX, travel payments and weekly payroll payments
o Debtors
# Review debtors credit applications and applications for cash accounts and authorize the opening of an account and credit limits in terms of the Delegation of Authority
# Review debtors masterfile exception report
o Fixed Assets
# Review of revaluation results
# Provide support to the fixed asset team when required.
o Cash Management & Working Capital Portfolio (as line manager to Cash Management Specialist)
# Manage rollout of the working capital framework thereby improving working capital and giving support to the Transnet Group Strategic Objective of optimal working capital performance
# Reviewing & authorizing monthly and quarterly cash forecasts to Group Treasury
o Revenue Management, oversee and provide support to terminals
3. Business Process Owner for Financial Statement Close Process

Position Purpose:

Position outputs:
1. Provide and manage legal advice to the organisation, with a focus on revenue and procurement contracts. The work will include:

4. Report monthly to the GM: Commercial Law on all commercial law disputes that may pose a reputational risk to Transnet.

Position Purpose:
• Manage Project Financing to develop financial models for new ventures and new partners which will include non-recourse or limited recourse financing structures (debt/equity) for strategic projects
• Drive decision making on structuring of PSPs, Capital investments and provide funding solutions/alternatives
• Develop, maintain and review financial models for investments/projects being undertaken by TPL to assist with assessment of financial viability
 
Position outputs:
Project development and processing
  • Develop financial models to assess financial viability of investment/projects and make investment recommendations based on detailed financial analysis and results of the model.
  • Assess acquisition transaction opportunities and perform valuations recommending the valuation methodology and providing supporting information for assumptions made in the valuation process.
  • Guide and review the use of various project financing mechanisms such as equity financing and debt financing
  • Apply a structured and systematic approach to financing projects using project Finance techniques
  • Propose to the Senior Manager: Corporate Finance innovative/optimum/appropriate funding structures/instruments for each investment deal ensuring long term sustainability/ viability of the project to the benefit of TPL and Transnet
  • Ensure that the financial model and analysis is in line with the terms captured on legal documents such as term sheets; offer to purchase, etc.
  • Build a credit rationale to make and substantiate investment decisions
• Member of Transaction Advisory Team
  • Partake in due diligence exercises, using approved processes and principles as outlined in the due diligence scope
  • Assess and structure transactions to maximize the potential for commercial co-financing and catalyzing of additional sources of capital
  • Prepare financial analysis and funding proposal reports/presentations for submission to governance structures.
• Policy and project evaluation
  • Research and identify industry reports that should be used in the assessments and development of financial models;
  • Perform ad-hoc activities as and when required including research for information required in development and maintenance of governance documents such as policies, procedures and frameworks that will be used in the investment evaluation processes.
  • Develop a broad knowledge of (corporate finance/private equity macro environment, sector, specific transaction) to support teams in identifying and recommending appropriate mitigation measures on key risk issues
• Long range financial and/or operations planning experience.
  • Liaise directly with Transnet Treasury to ensure short and long-term funding needs are met.
  • Review and recommend the appropriate capital structure.
  • Participate and support execution of all capital market transaction
• Mentor Trainees in Corporate Finance
 
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bcom Honours, with Financial Management as a major
• CA (SA) or CFA will be an added advantageous
• Five (5) to Eight (8) years of experience in corporate finance
• 2 years specialist structured finance experience
• Experience in development finance institutions will be an added advantage
Additional Job Requirements:
• Driver’s license code 08
• Travel as required and approved
• Requirement of Trust and Honesty in the handling of Finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19
 
Competencies:
• Ability to produce Financial Models
• Advanced Spreadsheet Skills.
• Knowledge of financial policies, controls, and procedures.
• In depth knowledge and experience on budgeting
• Knowledge of and experience with ERP Systems
• Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), King Code of Corporate Governance and Conduct.

Position Purpose:
• Provide stakeholder management strategic guidance and support to the Region while leading and managing relationships with local media and communities.
• Employ cutting edge, targeted communication both internally and externally in support of the Region’s strategy and business focus.
• Build and protect the Region’s reputation.
 
Position outputs:
1. Develop and drive robust marketing and communication strategy for the Region for material stakeholders critical in ensuring successful delivery of the Region’s strategy and key business priorities.
2. Manage critical reputational issues to ensure the Region’s reputation is protected.
3. Maintain and develop positive corporate image through protecting and developing corporate identity and brand.
4. Provide specialist advice to the management team on matters of communication and reputation.
5. Project Management – Lead and design events program and communication related project for the Region.
6. Implement Corporate Social Investments within the region in cooperation with other Transnet OD’s and the Transnet Foundation.
7. Design and implement Media and Public Relations management strategy for the region. Review and guide management in the provision of information to the media, public and stakeholders according to the policy and legislations.
8. Ensure adherence to Corporate Affairs department policies and procedures, e.g. Stakeholder Management, Media, Corporate Identity, Advertising and social media.
9. In-put to Region business strategy through role of management committee member.
10. In-put to national Corporate Affairs strategy
11. Initiate, review and process for approval regional articles and/or material for publication, exhibitions and presentations e.g. brochures, posters, videos, newsletters.
12. Manage subordinates by monitoring performance of and offer coaching and training.
13. Budget management and control over the region’s Corporate Affairs budget.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
• B Degree / Equivalent Qualification in Communications or related field.
• Honours / NQF Level 8 Qualification on Journalism / Marketing / Public Relations.
• 8 to 10 years’ experience in managing internal and external communications. 5 years must have been spent at mid-management level.
