Job Title: Sector Specialist
Reporting to: Executive Manager: Knowledge Management
Job Grade: D1
Duration: Permanent
Brief Outline of Duties:
To conduct project packaging, sector development and value chain analysis, for trade and investment opportunities. Conceptualize and co-ordinate project development as well as assess project proposals for economic and financial viability. Conduct value chain and sector research to provide market and business intelligence as well as facilitating knowledge management.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (Among others)
1. Sector economic insights.
2. Identify trade and investment opportunities.
3. Facilitate feasibility studies.
4. Stakeholder engagement.
5. Technical analysis and advisory on projects.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Educational and / or Technical Competencies:
Degree in Economics, Development Studies or related discipline is essential.
Honours Degree in Economics, Development Studies or related discipline is recommended.
Master’s degree in economics or related discipline is preferred.
Recognised project management certification is advantageous.
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge:
• Thorough knowledge of sector specific (automotive or chemicals or mechanicals) industries and applicable legislation.
• Knowledge of Investment Promotion environment would be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of Export Promotion.
• Sound knowledge of:
- Concept Development.
- Project/ Program planning and management.
Experience:
3-5 years’ experience at equivalent level
Must have a thorough understanding and experience in project planning.

• Knowledge of Value Chains.
• Knowledge of Investment and Export Promotion.
• Basic understanding of incentives and grants.
• Knowledge of work permits and company registration processes and documents.
