Job Title:  Compliance Officer
Reporting to:  Chief Executive Officer
 
 
Brief Outline of Duties: 
To ensure good governance of the organisation through compliance with applicable laws, regulations, best practice, organisational policies and code of ethics as well as proactively and systematically identifying potential events/risks by ensuring that the management of risks are within the organisation’s risk tolerance level. 
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (Among others) 
1. Advising on and monitoring good governance throughout the organization. 
2. Facilitate, implement and monitor the risk management system. 
3. Facilitate and monitor organisational compliance. 
 
JOB SPECIFICATION 
Educational and / or Technical Competencies: 
LLB or equivalent degree in Risk Management / Compliance / Legal or Governance. 
 
 
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of King Report on Corporate Governance for South Africa. 
• Enterprise risk management concepts, frameworks and methodology. 
• Good understanding / knowledge of governance practices, internal control systems and ability to monitor risk management activities / programmes (and implementation thereof). 
• Knowledge of corporate governance requirements. 
• Internal audit and assurance practices and controls. 
 
Experience:
3 years' experience in legal, compliance or risk management environment
