THE JOB AT A GLANCE:
You are accountable for developing, implementing and managing a defined national customer or portfolio of customers’ strategy that is aligned to the national customer strategy.  You own the customer relationship and use it to maximise and capitalise on sales opportunities. §Negotiate defined customer or portfolio of customers’ listings & launch support with relevant buyers. Control and implement the account promotional grid & budgeted spend.
§Complete pre-& post evaluation of ROI of all account promotions to ensure maximum commercial effectiveness.
§Communicate pricing & promo activities internally and externally to all stakeholders.
§Implement and monitor co-ad spend in line with budget.
§Work with Regional Sales Managers to ensure coverage of most important stores (without overlap).
§Manage expenses and co-ad within agreed budget

You will be responsible for the reporting of, but not limited to, product cost, mix, volume, material and conversion variances. This will include analysis of labour efficiency, yields, waste, factory OEE’s, cost drivers (allocation rules) and cost control. You be expected to summarize key findings and draw management’s attention and support for action. You will be responsible for the inventory, fixed assets and related balance sheets accounts for your unit(s), the reconciliation thereof. Your support will be required to ensure that internal controls, capital and operating expenses are properly governed and compliant with company policies and protocols. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set, upload and monitor standard costs (using a fully absorbed, activity based model) with the assistance of procurement and operations. This includes new product costings, and amendments to existing standards.
  • Accurate and timeous loading of new and amended bill of materials
  • Report weekly (WPE) on factory performance for the current month
  • Review and follow up on open orders, long outstanding orders.
  • Perform month-end accruals, cut-off transactions, reallocations and validation of accounts for the period close on a monthly basis.
  • Pro-actively manage variances on a daily basis with the cost analyst, escalating to site management for action, in order to minimize losses
  • Perform monthly reporting and validation of material variances, under and over recoveries and continuous improvement projects

  • Ensure that internal controls at the unit are adequate, regularly monitored, compliant with standard operating procedures and to assist with preparation and support during audits and self-assessments.
  • Seek for and support cost improvement opportunities, be an active contributor to improvement projects and initiatives, validate and review proposed savings.

  • Attend stock takes and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures including assisting with the authorization of inventory write-off

§ Oracle experience preferred.

You are accountable for the generation of a 24 months rolling Materials Plan. You will manage the procurement of all required materials (packaging and raw materials) as per production plan demand. You ensure opportunities and risks are regularly revised in order to meet the required customer demand at lowest possible costs, working capital and targeted customer service levels. You will facilitate the supplier review process in conjunction with Procurement. You are responsible for the implementation of  continuous improvement in materials planning and the adoption of materials planning process and tools.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead and manage the materials requirements planning processes
  • Upload forward plan orders into ORACLE and retrieve material shortage reports
  • Plan orders for materials to meet demand
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers and maintain delivery due list
  • Review and maintain forward material requirements within working capital targets for packaging and raw materials - i.e. minimize stockholding whilst ensuring sufficient supply.
  • Check shortages in production and review with warehouse and production planners the supply challenges (e.g. shortages, late deliveries etc.)
  • Ensure best delivery days through collaboration with warehouses and supplies and check in conjunction with warehouse/ development/ laboratory on any suspect material to ensure continuity in factories
  • Ensure communication between the Units and Procurement for all price negotiations and track Working Capital on packaging and raw materials weekly
  • Supply information to the Central Procurement team for updating supplier quantity contract/ source lists
  • Provide suppliers with a rolling 13-week forward estimate on a weekly basis and rolling monthly material requirements plan
  • Collaborate with key suppliers to manage supply, risks and opportunities
  • Maintain and optimize MRP tool in Oracle (e.g master data, housekeeping of PO’s)
  • Manage material write-offs at launches, re-launches and discontinuations
  • Highlight and resolve short term exception between production and supply on critical raw and packaging materials
  • Support supply review process by evaluating raw and packaging risks with action plans
  • Attend the supply review (SR) and help to prepare Supply Review pack.
  • Ensure correctness of SAP MRP through parameters/Stock Norms etc.

You are responsible for applying technical expertise to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing unit in order to maintain and improve operating efficiencies, reduce cost and improve sustainability. You will assist in the design of processes for new and existing products. You will implement projects to align with engineering strategies, standards and frameworks. RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Perform data analysis, root-cause analysis and identify and implement process improvements to support issue resolution and optimizing production processes to eliminate losses, improve quality, capacity, throughput and conversion cost.
  • Conducting process capability studies to establish optimal product rationalization on production lines and provide input to the production planning team
  • Develop and review energy and material  balances
  • Become an SME - understand the manufacturing technology in the category and work with technology, maintenance and manufacturing teams to resolve issues relating to product quality, process capability and efficiency challenges

Ensures the plant operations and process design are optimized to enable safe, efficient and effective operation of facilities and infrastructure throughout its lifecycle. Identifies training needs and develops interventions aligned to optimization opportunities.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU WILL DO 
Process efficiencies
  • Identify, develop and execute OEE improvements plans.
  • Work closely with operational teams to evaluate key plant KPI’s (Finance, Operational, Engineering), utilizing the principles of loss and waste to identify key high impact actions. Execution of these opportunities must be reflected in weekly and monthly reporting on KPI improvements.
  • Perform data and financial analyses, including cost loss matrix to identify the highest impact process/operational opportunities, and drive the implementation of these opportunities.
 
Process standards and governance
  • Review and develop technical baking process standards, and implement new criteria across bakeries.
  • Responsible for technical audit and governance on baking process equipment (conduct process audits, and develop resolution plan with bakery)
 
Project Management
  • Lead category projects encompassing URS development, conceptual design development/approval, process HAZOP studies, process layout, critical measurement control points (incl HACCP), hygiene factors and sustainable development considerations.
  • Lead specific CAPEX projects in terms of energy reduction, plant optimization, and cost savings.
  • Interact with Marketing to conceptualize projects and link them to factory capability.
  • Work with NPD on the development, introduction and integration of new products and projects, and own the efficiency improvement from the projects.
 
MECP
  • Deploy MECP, of which the success is measured in terms of MECP measurements. Deliver the roll out of the MECP pillars across bakeries.
  • Deliver Operational Excellence through strategies deployed at all levels of the production facilities.
 
People Development
  • Identify Bakery specific training needs.
  • Develop / manage baking training content development, curricula delivery and costing thereof.
  • Provide baking process on-the-job training and mentoring
  • Conduct baking process competence assessments for key personnel.
  • Co-ordinate and assess candidates for Chamber of Baking training.
  • Ensure that baking process training is compliant with the relevant Skills Development legislation and Tiger Brands Learning approach.
 
Quality and Yield Optimization
  • Provide expertise and problem-solving support in terms of knowledge and understanding of flour (characteristics, recipes, enzymes, cocktails, blending, challenges associated with)
  • Trouble shoot and support teams to resolve challenges related to the above. 
  • Understand the milling process, gristing and optimization thereof, its impact upon product quality, and liaise with the relevant Mills where required.
  • Understand and trouble-shoot the process of recipe optimization, specifically in terms of the function of different components in the cocktail recipe.
  • Understand the unique requirements of the Tinkies recipe and production thereof.

QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Core knowledge: Safety rules and regulations, Food Safety, Government policies on Safety Health and safety legal compliance, Project management, Risk management, Supervisory skills 101 
 
Academic: Minimum – NQF level 4 qualifications e.g. Matric with Math & Science or Supervisory development programme qualification. Advantageous – NQF level 5 and above e.g. N courses in engineering, NDip in engineering/operations; B-Tech in engineering/operations

To administer the complete shipping, documentation and clearing / forwarding functions by attending to relevant routines in order to provide shipping lines with the required information and documentation so that customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained at all times.
Reports to: Shipping Manager
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensuring compliance to contractual requirements 
* Shipping Instructions entered in Oracle – Timeous & Accurate 
* Follow up with the Labelling Department as to the progress of the relevant shipment 
* Freight Sheets are timeously distributed to all concerned parties 
* Book containers with the relevant shipping lines and follow on shipments to ensure timeous packing and hauling into port. 
* Constant liaison with customers as to the progress of their shipments 
* Bills of Lading – according to customer requirement, timeous and correct 
* Bills of Entry – compliance to customs requirements, timeous and correct 
* Documents to customers – timeous and correct 
* Invoices / Letters of credit submitted timeously 
* F178’s are issued, signed by bank  
* Ensure correctness of: - Documents received from factory - Preparing and submitting documents to bank / customer - Bank instruction letter re placement of funds - Liaison with banks re urgency of documents
 
QUALIFICATIONS
* Gr.12 / Matric is essential 
* Preferred Short Course / Diploma in International Trade Export
* 3-4 years’ experience in FMCG Export Shipping and Documentation environment 
* Appropriate Shipping and Documentation Administration experience
* Working knowledge of Customs Acts with regards to forwarding and clearing 
* Verbal and written communication skills 
* Administrative sand interpersonal skills
* Product knowledge and be figure orientated
* Ability to work under pressure and make independent decisions when required
* Available to work overtime 
* Ability to be multi-skilled 
* Understanding & knowledge of export contracts, products, pack patterns, stock availability, factory operations, shipping companies, forwarding and clearing
