CONFERENCE VENUE COORDINATOR
(Permanent employment contract with three months’ probation, Patterson Grade B4, Salary-R 216 660 Cost to Company)
Reporting directing to the Senior Coordinator: Conference Venue will assist in providing full support services to Conference Venue and Events as organised by clients. The deliverables are as follows.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify for this exciting position, candidates need to be in possession of Matric plus relevant or related qualification in Conferencing and Events Management. Good computer skills and knowledge of the rendezvous software booking system. Good verbal and written communication, out and task oriented; Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise, multi-task and follow up through; Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines; High attention to detail and accuracy of work, Good interpersonal skills; Computer Literacy, Team player; Ability to work after hours and over the weekends as in and when required; Ability to work under pressure.

Reporting directing to the Senior Coordinator: Conference Venue will assist in providing full support services to Conference Venue and Events as organised by clients. The deliverables are as follows.
- Responsible for internal and external conference venue bookings.
- Monitoring and controlling confirmed bookings to ensure that no double bookings occur, and payments have been made upfront.
- Ensuring that all room and event setups are completed in line with the rendezvous booking system.
- Ensuring that all display screens are updated daily with the event of the day for venue identification purposes.
- Managing the setting up of tables, chairs, staging, etc. for every event to meet the specification of clients and guests as per rendezvous sheet.
- Assisting clients with operating the AV equipment, sound system, and projections in the auditoriums.
- Reporting all facility or equipment related issues to the Senior Coordinator
- Attending scheduled meetings and training sessions pertaining for operational matters.
- Maintaining the Conference Venue department’s equipment.

AREA INNOVATION MANAGER (SHARPEVILLE, TSAKANE)

Reporting directing to the General Manager: eKasiLabs the successful incumbent will be responsible to provide commercialisation support, business support, benchmarking and participating in events, conferences for technology innovations emerging from start-ups companies in township incubator. The deliverables are as follows.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify for this position, candidates need to be in possession of a post graduate degree in a technical or/and with business or entrepreneurship qualification; Masters will be an added advantage. At least 5 years’ experience in economic development, innovation management and/ or strategy, policy, and management consulting, and possess in-depth knowledge on contemporary issues pertaining to economic development, innovation management and enterprise development. The candidate must have strong organisational skills (able to manage various tasks and projects simultaneously), business and entrepreneurial acumen; the ability to foster, nurture and encourage growth amongst the entrepreneur and the business. Excellent project coordination, financials, human resources, and stakeholder relationship management supported by strong negotiating, communication and networking, Monitoring and Evaluation (Accountability), Leadership Skills, creativity, and a strong aspiration to achieve customer excellence, Problem solving and analysis, Client orientation and customer focus, Understanding of SME development and good knowledge of SA’s innovation eco-system.

- Lead the implementation of organisational business incubation and innovation strategy relating to the Gauteng City Region (GCR).
- Assist in conceptualising and development of Gauteng City Region (GCR) sector / industry specific projects.
- Assist with establishment of the new eKasiLab.
- Allocate resources management, are budgets, are risk management, and maintain effective and efficient management control of the area incubation activities.
- Assist entrepreneurs in technical evaluations, fund raising as well as relevant linkages to established companies for business development opportunities.
- Assist in preparation of value proposition and investment cases for Investment Committee in support of funding for start-up companies.
- Assist the GM in fund raising and recruitment of stakeholders for area enterprise development.
- Advise project team and start-ups incubated on business risk inherent in the supported projects and strategies to mitigate the impact.
- Assess regulatory (policies) frameworks and market issues to evaluate competitive dynamics of various resource options that may affect the core business operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements, including finance and procurement procedures of both the government of South Africa and other industry and regional bodies.
- Produce regular progress reports and update operational plans.
- Promote collaboration within and across TIHMC’s business incubators.
