The successful candidate will report to the Stellenbosch Municipality’s Manager: Local Economic Development & Tourism and must comply with the following

 
Minimum Requirements: 
A relevant tertiary qualification (Degree in Business Management / Management Sciences / Economics / Economic Development / Project Management / Entrepreneurship / Town and Regional Planning ● Minimum of 4 years’ relevant working experience, preferably in the following environments: Informal Trading, Economic Development Hubs, Markets, Liquor licencing and Business Licences ● Valid Code B driver’s licence ● 1 year of the 4 years in a supervisory capacity 
 
Other requirements 
● Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures ● Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint ● Ability to work independently and develop good interpersonal relations ● Good Business plan and report writing skills ● Ability to manage diverse clients / situations ● Reliability and punctuality, willing to work odd hours / days ● Able to develop work programs ● Proven ability to run successful Local Economic Development projects ● Report Writing skills ● Fluent in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages (English, Afrikaans, Xhosa), that most of the documentation is prepared in English ● Outstanding ability to communicate (verbally and written) ● Leadership Skills 
 
 
Responsibilities 
●Implementation of Council’s framework strategies, policies and programmes relating to Informal Trading, Economic Development Hubs, Markets, processing of Liquor licencing and Business Licences ● Maintaining and managing intergovernmental relations and stakeholder liaison with regards to areas indicated above ● Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports on activities and relevant matters to the immediate superior for review and reference ●Applying and implementing the appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools in support of the realization of function’s performance targets.

Salary: R 279 511.32– R 362 823.48 (subject to evaluation) Plus benefits
