Minimum Requirements: B. Degree/B. Tech Civil Engineering (NQF Level 7) • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a Water and Sewer Distribution and Reticulation Planning and Design environment which includes water and sewer network modelling, legislative requirements according to National Water Act, Water Demand Management and Master planning. At least 3 years management and staff supervision experience. Valid Code B Drivers’ License • •Eligible for registration with ECSA. 
 
Other Requirements: Required Minimum Competency Units Standards as provided for in the MFMA or if candidate is not in possession of the unit standards be willing to obtain within 18 months of appointment • Computer literacy (MS Office applications) • Proficiency in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape (read, write and speak) •Good management, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills • Analytical skills •High level of responsibility •Ability to give attention to detail •Good understanding of risk and performance management • Time management skills • Excellent presentation and project management skills •Willingness to work after normal working hours, and during emergencies • Able to operate in a team and under pressure• Attention to detail • Managerial / Supervisory skills• Time management skills 
 
 
Added advantage: 
Experience in Water Planning 
Experience in CAD / GIS and MIS applications 
 
Responsibilities/Duties
Plan, monitor, control and report on the design and construction of new bulk water Infrastructure master plan with the to ensure continuous water supply, reducing maintenance cost and maximization of capacity • Develop, update, implement, monitor and maintain a maintenance/operational plan of water and sewer infrastructure to optimize potable water distribution •Develop policies, service standards and regulatory requirements for water services provisioning in compliance to legislation •Compile and update potable water services by-laws and regulations •Assist with the develop and updating of an asset and asset maintenance management system. •Perform quality Control reporting functions with regard to Blue and Green Drop on the DWS system.
