Purpose of the job
POSITION STATUS : Permanent (Internal & External)
The role is to manage and co-ordinate service management and/or project management, be accountable for financial management, supplier/contract management, Human Resources, and ICT services at a unit level. The Technical Manager will also be in charge of maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications needed to keep the business operational. Key Responsibility Areas

Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualification: Required Qualification: 3 - 4-year National Higher Diploma / National Degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science /Information Technology or relevant qualification equivalent to NQF Level 6. Vendor certification for applications will be an added advantage.
Experience: Experience: A minimum of 8 years in Application development and maintenance/enhancements of integrated solutions across multiple hardware and software platforms with leadership, management, operational responsibility in a large corporate/public sector organisation including: minimum 3 years' experience in a management/leadership level/role.
• Experience should include the following: Application Lifecycle Management experience including exposure to Agile methodology, JAVA, and Web Services development as an added advantage.
• Experience with large to very large enterprise environments which include multiple site locations Hands-on technical development experience.
• Experience in designing, developing, and writing code for programs, reports, interfaces.

Purpose of the job
Assistance and supervision of technical support services for the Switching Centre facilities infrastructure to ensure optimal uptime. Ensure the general efficiencies of all electrical systems including but not limited to: UPS, electrical switchgear, cooling, fire protection systems, access control and emergency power generators. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will be involved in the space allocation and power requirements for Switching Centre facilities infrastructure and all sites where there is such implementation. Assist with the administration of invoice submission, change control, site visits for due diligence, verification of installations, verification of repairs at various sites for various Installations as listed above.
Key Responsibility Areas
• Assist with mitigating site downtime due to electrical plant failure.
• Assist and Supervise Switching Centre, etc. Infrastructure Upgrades.

Qualifications and Experience

Certification: CDFOM (Certified Data Centre Facilities Operations Manager). Course in JBCC. Government Certificate of Competency, as defined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Course in Project Management is an added advantage.
Experience: 3 - 5 years’ industry related electrical power engineering experience which should include: Maintenance and operation of electrical plant in the area of complex ICT facilities or Critical mission facilities (such as Banks, Data Centres, Telecommunications network sites, or hospitals). Experience with (building) power system analysis and engineering. Experience with IT Infrastructure operations including detailed comprehension of high availability systems. Experience with project coordination, product evaluation, vendor or customer management. Experience with reviewing estimates of material and labour costs for repairs, replacements, and improvements to ensure that repairs are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner, on the electrical plant in the area of complex ICT facilities. Purpose of the job
To manage and maintain the core server management infrastructure, resolve high/medium incidents logged, upgrade the server hardware/software monitor server availability in the client’s enterprise or LAN environment to ensure good service delivery.
Key Responsibility Areas
• Implementation of all services and solutions relating to the Core server infrastructure and Directory services.
• Design procedures and standards for Directory integrated systems, Servers and related services and monitor implementation thereof.
• Management/ ownership /resolution of high medium operational incidents.
• Implementation of Server and Services Toolsets & Dashboards.
• Monitor availability of the server.
• Publish/distribute server software/hardware upgrade.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum: 3 year National Diploma / Degree in IT or Computer Science, IT related fields (NQF level 6) Plus MCSE, MCITP certified.
Certification: MCSE, MCITP certified.
Experience: 5 - 6 years’ experience as a Specialist: Server Administrator in the provisioning, support and maintenance and support of all Server related Infrastructure such as Enterprise Directory Services, virtualization and server infrastructure technology stack. Experience in working within the ITIL Framework for Incident, Problem, Change, or Service Experience in the design, planning, implementation of an Enterprise Server solution and services.
Technical Competencies Description
Knowledge of: IT and Government Industry. IT Products and Services. An in-depth knowledge of: Server Operational Management. System performance. Server Performance. Management/Support service offerings. Stakeholder management. knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, 802.1x, and DHCP protocols; knowledge of Windows and Linux Servers, Server Operations, Server applications, etc.; knowledge of both physical and virtualized servers, especially Hyper-V. A solid understanding of: Hardware and software support for client system/solutions, Server & Storage related technologies & related management toolsets and solutions Service Management systems (ASPECT /ARS/ITSM7) or equivalent applications ICT Operational Trends Network Operating Systems. Project Management. NOS/Active Directory/Virtualization. Quality assurance standards. DNS, E-Mail, software deployment, Patch management, Core Stack builds VPN technologies and concepts. Disaster Recovery. Virtualization technologies and concepts. Computer and network security principles Operating System Stack builds (OS Imaging). Service Level Management.
